Best binoculars for watching footy at the MCG

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 25, 2011
Perfect for watching Aussie Rules or cricket at the MCG. You can see the action without bothering with focusing and the field of view is so much wider than any other binoculars. Eveyone at the 'G should have a pair!
Pros: Focus free, widest field of view available, perfect for sport
Cons: Can break if dropped on concrete! Rubber armour would be good...

Bushnell 4*30 Xtra-Wide

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 21, 2010
Very nice simple binocular, that is also easy to use for kids. No-thoughts or efforts to catch the details of interest. Relatively low power is no problem at all for watching at moderate distances. Just great for watching birds in the garden. Not the last word in image quality, but that would be unrealistic to expect at this price... Overall: Recommended!
Pros: Clear, wideangled view, Fixed-Focus and light.
Cons: Slightly voluminous body (given size) and some distortion on edge of viewing field....

Great For Football

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 8, 2010
I was worried that my eyes would not be good enough to use with a focus adjustment but they worked great.

They are perfect for viewing concerts and sporting events because of the low power and wide angle.

Other binoculars that I have tried are too high power for football games. With these you can see the whole team at the line, about like watching it on tv.
Pros: Low Power, Superwide Angle
Cons: No Lens Caps, Cannot Adjust Focus...

Good set for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 14, 2009
This is a great unit for the $70.00 price range. The FOV is just spectacular and it's one of the best inexpensive binoculars I've ever had the honor of using. Don't expect the world but it's definitely a value.
Pros: Inexpensive, Decent Optics, Wide FOV
Cons: Blurry at great distances...

Get theses binocs!!!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on September 30, 2009
Purchased previous model which was dis-continued by Bushnell, but these appear similar (photo & price). Recommended by a friend for MLB games; they work great. We let folks try them wherever we go & everyone wants a pair! Also took them to the ballet. Just couldn't get over the experience of watching the USAF Thunderbirds last summer. The jets stayed in focus all the way to the top of the "bomb-burst" (then got too far apart); simply amazing! Great product, super value; I want to try them @ NASCAR & horse races next.
Pros: Auto-focus is the best...

Bushnell Xtra-Wide 5x25 Binocular

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 3, 2007
Uses so far:indoor theatre events (especially dance), birdwatching (especially around a bird feeder).

These are great for a wide angle closeup view. Typical 7x or 8x binocs don't work as well for a theatrical performance - much of what's on the stage remains outside of your field of view.

Haven't tried them yet at sporting events, but I imagine they'd be great, particularly for basketball.

A valuabe addition to anyone's collection of binoculars.
