Pros:  value for the price, great starter set-up
Cons:  a bit heavy, hard for me to figure out how to turn, swivel

This tripod works well right out of the box, and has never failed. It has nice, sturdy quick-release levers so adjustments are a breeze. Rubber tips on ends of legs provide stability on hard surfaces if conditions are windy. If surface is muddy, you might want to add wider platforms (or push legs down into mud). I especially like the padding on the top third of the legs, which makes moving equipment around much easier on the shoulders.

The tripod is lightweight, but feels very solidly constructed. Its fit and finish are superb. Also, since both the scope and tripod are in basic black, they look like a matched set.
