great buy for the price

by guido sniper, from United States, TX Written on March 20, 2015
Returns to zero and easy to hear the clicks, fun scope. Good clarify, paralax adjustment works good. Little difficult getting sighted in and zero, but easy to do again after first try. Great Scope! Especially for those getting into target shooting at decent distance....
Pros:
  • Awesome for price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target/Hunting

Best Scope For The Money

by MWalker, from United States, OH Written on March 16, 2015
Finally had a chance to go sight it in and get a feel for how it performs.
I already owned the smaller brother of this scope, so I was anticipating some issues with clarity at it's 18 power setting. It's a tad bit longer than its junior.
Surprise! It is excellent at the edges of the viewing area.
You can spend 4 or 6 times more money for a scope than this one, but you won't get a scope that is that many times better.
I dialed it in within 10 shots from my AR build, set it up to be zero at 200 yards.
I could easily see the POI nestle together to make a 5 shot 2" group multiple times.
Standing and shooting offhand I was able to obtain a 3" group at 50 yards with it.
My eyes are 68 years old and can still hit a 3" target with iron sights at 100 yards.
The turrets are positive clicks, the side focus has some resistance to turn, but the correct resistance to prevent drifting of the setting.
Wish there were small subtensions above the center cross intersection.
Wish it had a sunshade built in to it.
Don't like the large LED socket beneath the scope, it can present a problem for an ideal location for a brass catcher....
Pros:
  • Can't beat the price for the quality.
  • Illumitated reticule for limited light hunting.
Cons:
  • Second focal plane
  • subtensions are too broad
  • BDC dots are too big
Best Used for:
  • Hunting, informal target shooting.

Great Product

by Nicholas Wicks, from United States, MI Written on March 12, 2015
This is a great, easy to use product. It is quite clear even at maximum magnification and the drop reticle makes shooting different distances easy as long as you have a range finder to know how far your target is. It also seems very durable, though I take good care of my rifles and scopes so I haven't subjected it to much abuse. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is quite heavy. It adds a fair amount of weight to my already heavy AR-15. It's not an unreasonable amount of weight, though it's enough that if you're walking long distances carrying your gun you may notice it. All of my other traditional (non-tactical) scopes are definitely lighter than this one....
Pros:
  • durable
  • easy to use
  • good optics
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • Still hunting

Bushnell AR Optic 4.5-18x40mm

by lil64gto, from United States, NY Written on March 8, 2015
I recently built a long range AR and wanted a scope that would give me the power to be able to shoot 500 yds. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but wanted a scope that had decent glass and more then 12x and the Bushnell AR Optic 4.5-18 was what I chose. It is light in weight, shorter than standard scope platform and has very nice optics for a scope in this price range. I will re-post once the snow melts and I have been able to test this scope for it's ability. At this time I can definitely say that this scope is what Bushnell said it was and what I wanted in a scope....

Very Good Scope and Exceptional Value

by JB, from United States, MO Written on March 2, 2015
This scope has clear glass and is a very good value for the quality provided--especially considering the $30 rebate that was offered by Bushnell. The BDC feature appears to closely match the vertical trajectory of the 55g 5.56/223 cartridge, but does have some variation as the manufacturer's user's manual says may occur. The eye relief is generous

The power selector ring is somewhat more resistant to rotation compared to other scopes I've used, but is still functional. I will inquire with Bushnell about the possibility of adjusting the resistance so it rotates more easily....
Pros:
  • clear glass
  • Good value for the money.
Cons:
  • Difficult to rotate the power selector ring
Best Used for:
  • range, hunting

Bushnell AR Optics rifle scope

by Armyof1, from United States, NC Written on November 9, 2014
Great scope for the price ! I had this scope zero'd in at 100 yards in less than 5 minutes and it has retained it's accuracy after being dismounted and mounted on several trips to the range. I am very satisfied with this scope and with OpticsPlanet ....

A pretty good match for my AR

by Jafala, from United States, AR Written on August 30, 2014
I wanted a scope with well over 9X magnification as, even at 100 yards, my eyes aren't what they used to be. This scope feels solid and the w/e turrets both have positive, audible clicks. I have not box tested, but adjustments have been accurate for zeroing. The glass is very clear and light transmission is good. The eye relief is a pretty touchy so takes a second or two to get full view. I have only shot at 100 yards so can't comment as to how well the BDC reticle works. The side parallax adjustment is nice, but seems to be somewhat off; giving me a clear picture when set on 75 yards - for an actual 100 yard range. One negative for me is the weight. Although my rifle (still) feels balanced, a four to six ounce weight reduction would be a plus. For the purchase price, especially when on sale, this scope is hard to beat....
Pros:
  • value
  • Clarity
  • Adjustments
Cons:
  • weight
  • eye relief
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting
  • hunting with an AR or MSR type rifle, plinking, low light shooting, mid-range shooting
Would recommend: Yes
