There are very, ver few non-electric, non-laser rangefinders out there. For those who want a truly affordable rangefinder, or even a backup to an expenseive laser model, this is perfect. Simple to use and accurate wtihin five feet at the max distance of 200 yards. One can also easily extrapolate a rough distance estiamte for farther objects by mentally comparing the height scale, which is set at 7 feet for a standard flag, to an object beyond the 200 yard measurement. No, it won't be totally accurate at that range but will put you in the area. I wanted something lightweight, easy to carry and easy to pack, and affordable. This is perfect on each of those counts.
