Bushnell Trophy XLT 4X12X40 600DOA

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 4, 2014
I put this scope on a TC Venture 270WSM and used it to replace a Nikon prostaff that I exchanged once and even the second one wouldn't stay zeroed. This scope blew me away with clearer image , more adjustability , and olds dead zero on an MOA rifle with no worries .
Pros: Really great optics and quality for the $...

Bushnell-Worst Customer Service Ever

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NY Written on March 23, 2013
I bought this scope through Optics planet and had it professionally installed on my new Browning X-Bolt. I zeroed the scope at 100 yards on a lead sled and put it in my hard gun case for three days before deer season. Opening day shot at a 6 point buck 75 yards away, took my time and shot 6 feet over the bucks head. Returned to the range and the scope was hitting the dirt burm above the target at 50 yards. No longer even on paper!

Contacted Bushnell customer service and they asked me to mail the scope to them. I did so and they informed me that I must have dropped or bent the scope and that this was not covered. I am the most meticulous gun owner I know. I have a 40 gun fireproof safe and my firearms are never put away dirty. In addition I pay special attention to never bump my scope and always travel with a hard case. Needless to say this was the last Bushnell product I will ever purchase. Since then I have purchased 4 Nikon BDC scopes for my various rifles. I have never had an issue with any of them and the optics are better. I recommend spending the extra couple dollars for a quality Nikon product.

Buyer beware if you have any issues with a Bushnell product you are on your own!
Pros: Looks nice on the website
Cons: Scope malfunctioned, Bushnell blamed me and refused service...

one happy mini 14

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 12, 2013
nice scope, seems to me to have good light transmission, good light picking up at dusk, and i really like the doa feature, which allows you to have a no knob turning bullet drop compensator. i don't know if i can say the name of the other scope i have from another company, but they also have this type of a deal. but they have a ballistics calculator so you can plug in your specific ammo and work up a dope sheet specific for the specific ammo you are using, very cool. looking at the 2 scopes side by side the gradation appears to be the same so i used the program for the bushnell to work up a dope sheet for it as well. bushnell, this would be a HUGE plus towards customer service.
question is, would i recommend this scope? yes, yes i would, so far it's been good for me.
Pros: clear glass, good light transmission
Cons: none so far...

Broken after 2nd use.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on August 4, 2012
So... I sighted this scope in on my Mossberg 464 ZMB using a bore sight in the late afternoon. Easy to set up and use. About 10 days later a buddy and I went to the range in the morning and after running about 25 rounds through it at 100 yds I was hitting everything in a 4 inch group. Then the focusing lens cracked!!! Totally worthless after that point. Contacted Bushnell and they stated they would replace it, but suggested that I go through the seller. When the new one arrives, I'll try it again.
Pros: Love the look, feel, and works great in light or twilight conditions.
Cons: Broke on second use at the range....

Good Scope for the Price.

Title says it all.

Windage & Elevation adjusters give nice solid clicks.

Haven't had a chance to test out the DOA function yet with long range, but I have friends that swear by it.
Pros: DOA 600, crisp clear image, easy to use
Cons: none...

Remington 660 .308 Win

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NE Written on June 10, 2012
Bought this for my Win .308, finally got to go out and fire it this weekend. Very clear optics and after 2 boxes of ammo bullet holes are still dead on at 100 yards. Sighting it in for the first time was very easy. My first shot after bore sighting was 6 inches right and 3 inches low. I used the adjustments that have clicks and also marked in inches to the appropriate 6 & 3 inches and the second shot was within an inch of the bulls eye. Moved it out to 200 yards and had to adjust to the 300 yard marking in the DOA reticle as the 308 has a little more drop than other h-p rifles. The eye relief is very good at 4x (both forward/back & right/left), when adjusted to the full 12x setting the eye relief left to right is much less, like other high power scopes I've used, but it wasn't enough to be any problem finding the target. The 12x scope was powerful enough to still see my bullet hole on the target at 200 yds. I love the flip open scope covers. The rear cover has a small red lever that you push and it then opens. The front cover does not and sometimes pops open when bumped, wish it had a lever to lock it closed like the rear has. Overall a good buy.
Pros: Clear optics, accurate, easy to adjust
Cons: Front scope cover tends to open too easiliy ...
