Using the Caldwell E-Max Electronic Hearing Protectors

by Nosidda57, from United States, WV Written on November 14, 2014
This is hearing protection at it's best. There are no problems hearing voice commands from the range officer. I was seated on the firing line positioned directly to the right of a shooter firing a .338 Lapua. I didn't flinch once. I have recommended these to all of my fellow target shooting friends....

This is the second set of electronic hearing protection that I've had and these are much more comfortable. The earmuffs fit well and are very comfortable. They provide great protection on a noisy range....

Great For The Price

by Bob, from United States, NY Written on November 3, 2014
Not as noice canceling as my Bose, but at about a tenth of the price, they are great. The low profile is both comfortable and keeps the ear cups from getting in the way. Two AAA Batteries are inexpensive and easy to replace. They work fine in an indoor range even when high powered pistols are being shot around you. Great also for rifle work on a bench and even suitable for some hunting as you can hear pretty well until there is an agressive noise....

Great hearing protection @ a great price

by Wally, from United States, MO Written on September 4, 2014
These work as good as some of the high-priced devices - we have used them for years and really like them. They make it possible for us to use on the range while instructing new shooters on proper handgun techniques - and not have to be continually moving the headphones in order to hear....

  • Cost when compared to competitors.
Cons:
  • None

Great for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on June 14, 2012
Great product for the cost. Awesome when used outdoors, but a little too much "hiss" when the exhaust fans are on in an indoor range. If the hiss gets too much I turn it off unless I need to hear voices, which is rare when I shoot indoors.
Pros: Inexpensive, durable, easy to use
Cons: hissing sound when used indoors when fans are on...
