THIS IS THE BEST SHOOTING PLATFORM IN THE UNIVERSE

by Gunner1945 Fisher, from United States, OK Written on August 26, 2014
Assembly directions were easy to follow but there was no mention of oiling the bearing and other threaded parts. A little oil on these not only makes for smoother operation but also protects against rust. This is a great platform for sighting in a rifle and for shooting with all of the adjustments which can be made for elevation and windage.

Full 25 pound shot bags when inserted into the Caldwell bags will not fit under the rails. Pour half of the shot into a quart freezer bag, use duct tape to reinforce the zipper end and then insert this bag into another freezer bag and reinforce that bag's zipper end with duct tape. Then insert the freezer bag into the Caldwell bag. These 12.50 pound bags fit the tray perfectly and will slide under the rails. Or 2 Caldwell bags . . . each filled with 25 pounds of shot can be placed on the each side by positioning them on top of the trays by the rails. It seems that #9 lead shot works best in either application....

Worth the money.

by Bruce K, from United States, WV Written on July 30, 2014
Led sled is well made. Sighted in my Socom 16 with it and it does lessen recoil as long as you use sandbags with sand or shot. I used four Caldwell bags filled to the max with sand. The only thing I didn't like was when the bags are filled to the max with sand they don't fit underneath in the tray. Maybe they would with shot. However, they do fit nicely on the side of the tray stacked two bags on each side. The sled itself heavy anyway and the added weight is a plus. Nice adjustment features....
Pros:
  • heavy
  • well made
  • nice adjustments
Cons:
  • tray could be deeper to accomodate sandbags filled to max.

Does a good job on "medium" long rifle loads

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IN Written on April 18, 2013
I've used this a lot with my AR10 (308) and Rem700 (300 Win Mag). The Sled can handle the 308 all day long, easy to see where the bullet landed because you're still spot on target with hardly any movement. 300 Win Mag is a totally different story. The sled will inch back slowly after every shot and doesn't provide enough stability to consistently see the impact. Even with 125lbs of steel shot loaded on this beast, it still moves around.
Adjust-ability of the sled is pretty awesome. Only thing I can dock it for is the left right adjustment knob has too much slop in it before any adjustment is made. One of the bolts came lose and fell out after extensive 300WM shooting one day. Assembly instructions are pretty poor.
Pros: Rock solid, magazine space, adjust-ability, weight
Cons: weight, poor assembly instructions, doesn't sit still for magnum loads...
