This Celestron mini-Mak is my second scope and it performs very admirably. I use it solely for star gazing when I'm traveling and I don't feel like packing up my other scope. The viewing for the OTA is really quite good considering its price. I have no problems viewing planets and even star clusters.
The only few downsides comes from the accessories. The tripod is mostly plastic with the legs being the only metal parts (aluminum). If you're serious you will require a more stable viewing platform. This package also comes with a nylon backpack for the tube and another for the tripod. The backpacks are not padded, which is not ideal. That may be another investment you'd want to make further down the line.
Pros: Compact optical tube, easy set up
Cons: Flimsy plastic tripod
