Great filter, great price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on February 25, 2010
I was wanting to get an oIII filter
to catch great views, trouble was, they were all too expensive, and I was worried about quality, you know, cheaply made glass, cheaply coated optics, and anything else that would detract from a proper view of nebulae, which happen to be among my favorite targets.
Pros: easy to thread, works great, unobstructed view
Cons: none that I can think of really....
Would recommend: Yes

Review of Celestron Oxygen III filter

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on May 16, 2008
This is a great filter for viewing emission nebulae. This filter easily doubles the size and greatly increases contrast on several dozen nebulae. I would recommend this filter if you live in a light polluted area. The only con would be that it darkens the field somewhat so I recommend this filter for anyone using a 4" refractor/6" reflector or larger scope.
Pros: Brings several nebualae into view
Cons: Darkens field just a bit....
Would recommend: Yes
