I bought this for several reasons. I use it as a spotting scope when target shooting, and it does very well. I also use it to watch birds, squirrels, and other wildlife in my backyard. Is is great for this purpose also. The fact that it comes in it's own backpack makes it easy to take camping too. Lastly I have tried it out as an astronomical scope, and enjoyed seeing Jupiter, the Orion Nebula and of course the moon. Highly recommended, and shipped fast from Optics Planet!

This celestron telescope is really good for the price. It is a high quality multi-coated 70mm Achromatic which include 2 high quality 1.25'' kneller eyepiece. at 20X & 40X chromatic aberation are acceptable for such fast scope. Recommended

This scope does exactly what it says it does. You may not discover any asteroids with it but it delivers pretty much everything that any larger scope will. Its brilliant for observing wildlife. It works amazingly well for astronomical observing also. You can see plenty of DSO's (deep space objects), as well as those celestial bodies closer to home (the Moon and planets). Ideal for holidays, weekends away etc.
Great telescope for a pre-teen.

We purchased this telescope for our granddaughter's birthday. We liked the backpack and portability of the device. She is thrilled with the telescope. The images rival those of a much bigger telescope that we have.

Pros: Portability, lightweight, decent optics
Cons: Tripod mount not very smooth or stable
Would recommend: yes

Travel Scope 70 performs as advertised -good grab & go scope due to lightweight and backpack. The downside of its lightness is the lack of smoothness & stability of the tripod mount. Scope performs much better when used with good camera/camcorder mount.
