This is a good size spotting scope so you will want a solid tripod to support it.

Guys at the gun club loved my spotting scope. They asked me where I got it, how much it cost, and even wrote down the make, model, and website (OpticsPlanet.com) where they could get one. They commented that they could see "everything" with it. High praise since I just met these guys as my membership was less than 3 hours old. No way were they blowing smoke just to support a buddy! In addition, I spotted three of Jupiter's moons with it

Pros: Huge objective lens makes sight picture very bright even on max magnification. Picture is sharp and clear. Equals many scopes that are 3X the price.
Cons: Can't use it with glasses on. 100mm objective lens makes it on the large side. Not a compact.
Would recommend: yes

I've looked through Kowas, Zeiss, and a few other high end spotters. They're outstanding optics. Got a chance to evaluate the Celestron Ultima 100 and was highly impressed with it. Brightness and sharpness at full magnification (66X) is on par with scopes costing2-3X as much.

The scope arrived as expected on time. Very nice scope. Requires a stable tripod to prevent image wobble. Very impressed with the product. Compared with units costing 10 times (yes $2800)this is probably the last spotting scope I will every purchase.

I did a lot of research on finding a spotting scope that would allow me to see 6mm and .308 bullet holes at 500 meters (550 yards), and that was affordable. Cheaper scopes tend to be terrible. This was the only scope I found rated by a couple of reviews to see out as far as I need to see. The first time I took out on a day without a lot of mirage I was thrilled to see my bullet holes clearly at 385 meters and 500 meters. You can see the holes better with "shoot and see" targets, but you can see them on plain cardboard as well. I love this scope.

I work in wireless communications and this scope is great for looking at parts and color codes from the ground to 300ft plus upstairs. Great Clairity and zoom. But you need a rock solid tri pod at the higher power settings

Greetings. I purchased this fine scope to use in NRA High Power & Service Rifle Competition. I went with the 100 mm objective because I need to be able to CLEARLY see .30 cal. bullet holes at 300 yards without necessarily going to the maximum magnification. Talk about clear...when I tested the resolution on tree limbs at 300-350 yards distant from my position, I not only saw razor-sharp tree bark outline but razor-sharp leaves as well. In fact, the resolution is far better than any other scope I've ever looked through in this price range. These 48 year old pair of eyes were able to CLEARLY see ants and various other insects plying the branches 300 yards distant on max. power setting (67X). That's correct folks; clearly defined ants, flys, etc., @ 300 YARDS!...not semi-fuzzy little moving blurs. In fact, I was able to CLEARLY see them and identify them down to the 50X power setting. Color resolution is also excellent. Eye placement is critical when you go much beyond 45X but especially so ...

We use our Celestron 100 Spotting Scope almost daily. It is so simple to set up and use that we don't hesitate to grab it to watch the redtail hawks or roadrunners in our back yard. We are leaving for an Alaskan adventure in a month, and this scope is going as a carry-on wherever we travel. We can't wait to use it for the wildlife in the tundra and for glacier viewing!
