Great Scope for the Money

by Rob Eckenrode, from United States, PA Written on September 7, 2014
Great scope for what I use it for mostly 100 yard target shooting. Was a little disappointed when the package arrived...all the packing bags were deflated, I guess it was luck that the scope was handled carefully by the shipper. There was no damage that I noticed. My suggestion....improve the packing material for shipping...maybe the next guy won't be so lucky!...
Pros:
  • Great Scope
Cons:
  • improve packaging for shipping
Best Used for:
  • target shooting 200 yards and greater

Celestron 80 Excellent Spotting Scope At A Superb Price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 4, 2008
This scope does an excellent job for precision shooting. It is sturdy, clear and is very easy to use and adjust. The biggest problem I have with it is the eye relief. It's not horrible but it does take some time to adjust to. For the price though, this scope is an awesome deal. It comes with its own carrying case and lens covers.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Clear
Cons: Eye Relief, Weight, Size...

Celestron Ultima 80 straight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on October 22, 2007
I purchased after returning a Celestron c65 mini. It did not perform well at all! The Ultima 80 is considerably clearer and much easier to focus. Its main drawback, its overall length, is also one of its strengths. When using it without a tripod or any support it is easy to hold, off hand, and view without it's image shaking. It has a detachable eye piece that has its own hard shell protective case and with it removed it shortens the overall length by 5" or so. The 80 mm opening really improves light transmission over the smaller scopes. Light transmission and clarity only degrade at the 60x power. It has good eye relief especially at the lower power setting. Very good optics for the money. 2 thumbs up.
Pros: Very clear and bright
Cons: length...
