I bought these sights a few years ago when they first came out for use for my wife so she coud simply "point and shoot" in a defensive situation. Athough it took me a little practice when target shooting to get used to the "dot" (its a personal dual finger co-ordinantion issue between my eyes using the sights and the dot; I was trained to use sights only as a Marine and as a police officer). When I retrained myself to rely on the dot only and trust the technology within 50', it was extremely accurate. Some people don't like grip sights, but I find this set to be very user friendly when adjusting the range for accuracy versus recoil sights, and they are versatile to use or not to use when given the situation. I live in the Memphis area and unfortunately I had to test the effect of the dot's effectiveness of intimidation being put on a would be intruder, fortunately the dot was VERY, VERY EFFECTIVE, AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!! I have never pulled a weapon on someone unless I intended to use it and unfortunately, I was forced to do so when a would be intruder was peeking in my windows at 1AM. When he was encountered with a red dot on his baseball cap, he ducked his head like a praire dog peeking out of its hole, and started screaming, "Hold on man, I just wanted a gallon of gas!!" as he ran away from my house; needless to say, this investment of personal defense paid for itself as a thousand times over without having to pull the trigger, as well as being HIGHLY functional in the field.
Pros: easy and durable
Cons: adjusting between muzzle control with sights and the laser dual finger co-ordination
