Purchased the laser sight to improve accuracy because I need to use prescription glasses for distance but can't see the pistol sights clearly when wearing the glasses. Installed on my Les Baer full size 1911. When I initially read the product description I thought it was a green laser because of Green in the product title and the hefty price. The grip side panels are green and the laser is red--as stated in the product specifications section. My Les Baer originally came with narrow wooden grips so I had to replace the slim line grip screws and bushings with standard 1911 screws/bushings which cost about $10. Mounting the lasergrip was very easy and took less than 10 minutes. The quality and fit of the laser grip is outstanding. The dark olive green/black color looks good on a blue gun. The grooves and checkering are cut deeply into the G10 side panels and provide a much better grip than the original wooden grips. The on/off power switch is recessed deeply into the left side panel which reduces the chance of accidental activation. With the on/off switch turned on, the laser is activated by the pressure switch located just below the trigger guard when the pistol is gripped naturally. The pressure switch will not activate the laser if the on/off switch is turned off. The laser was closely aligned with the iron sights after installation. It only took a few shots with minimal adjustment to sight in using a pistol rest. Have shot outdoors/daylight with no problems but havent checked to see what the max range would be in bright sunlight. For me (with my eyesight issues) it is easier to use and more accurate than using the iron sights. I was initially reluctant to pay that much for a red laser, but it is well worth the price for the quality and impressive laser performance.
Pros: High quality, easy to install, accurate, easy to use
