A Real UnderBoss

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MD Written on June 12, 2013
If allen wrench tightened for semi-permanent weapon attachment. Expect spring readjustment time will be required.
Quick-release option is holds very firmly for removal/change over. Some reviewers seam to adverting for other less capable systems. Battery door problems??? Sounds like a knock-off purchase.
I have experienced none of these problems whatsoever, 2008 still running perfectly. Original lithium batteries are still strong.
Whether you use the soft button on/off or pressure cable. My unit has seen the abuse of much range use under the recoil of both rifles and handguns including the bumps and bruises of remaining attached at all times during soft case and/or holstered transport.
Real-time users are looking for performance over the "I fell for the marketing hype crowd". Use it. Take it through the test before your return options and warranty are lost. Don't complain because you fell incidentally under the six "P" short bus [prior, preparation, prevents, piss, poor, performance]. Always buy from reputable sellers.

Pros: Very bright Halogen illumination. Excellent 635nm laser that holds zero across various platforms. Quick release is hard and firm.

DOA - Unit did not work

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MD Written on August 20, 2012
Ordered this item, looked great and perfectly fit my needs for what I wanted.

I removed it from the box and tried to turn it on and nothing. So, I tried replacing the batteries and nothing!

It's hard to give this a real review since the unit I got didn't work at all......

Ex law enforcement - Have many high quality lights, seguin, TX

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on February 10, 2012
I have had to send 2 of these back to the company because the battery compartment pops open when the shotgun is fired. They have replaced the remote switch twice and I have had to make my own switch in order to make the unit work correctly. Lights do not throw much light, even with new batteries. Laser will not stay set even though everything is tight and installed correctly. The laser "drifts" after shooting the shotgun several times. Constantly must re-zero the laser which is a pain in the arse. Not impressed with this unit. It is a top of the line, high dollar item but the quality certainly is not up to what even a cheap unit should be.
Pros: company backs up product
Cons: Product is not worth buying even at a fourth of its sale price...

Great light

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 16, 2010
I had read a poor review of this light claiming that the battery door would fly open without reason and the laser would not stay zeroed. I have found the door on my model to be quite sturdily secured. I have not tried the lazer at this point, however, I do have another laser product and lasers can be a bit shakey when it comes to maintaining a tight zero. Thus far I have to give the light good marks. P
Pros: Perfect size and bright light as well as good price
Cons: Switch cord is a bit awkward...

Underboss light LACKING

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IN Written on November 8, 2009
I have several different Tactical lights, Glock, Surefire, Dark ops. The Dark ops Underboss is no doubt the worst excuse for a light/laser that I have EVER made the mistake of buying. Granted it is bright, however this is the only good thing I can say about it. the battery door opens much too easily and in the wrong direction to be secure. the remote pressure switch lasted about 2 weeks before it fell apart. Moving it from one wpn to another is an adventure in itself just using the allen wrench to tighten & loosen the screw to move it. The laser will not hold a zero on my AR15, Glock 21,1911,Glock 22, of my wife's Glock 19. after just 3-5 rnds it has to be re-adjusted. If you want a light for anything more than a .22, don't waste your money on this one.
Pros: Bright white light
Cons: controls fall apart, battery door opens eaisly, laser won't hold zero...
