I've found that the velcro straps are in opposite directions. Ideally you'd like for the rough "hooks surface" to be facing away from ones skin. If this is worn correctly the main strap with wraps around the calf can be irritating if the strap is not perfectly lined up. If you try to flip it around, then the lower strap would have the same issue running up ones calf. It's a minor annoyance to an otherwise good product.
