Good cheap holster

The holster is versatile and comfortable, but a little hard to use in practice. Save up for a good keydex.
Pros: Fits tight
Cons: Not keydex...

Nice IWB holster for the Shield

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 1, 2013
I bought a model 106 (same as this) for my Kahr P9 a year or two ago and it was stiffer and thicker than this one. This one (also a model 106 but for the SW Shield) is a much more thinner and flexible which only matters for reholstering. Great holster overall.
Pros: Soft for sure, comfortable and can be set up strong side or X-draw
Cons: Maybe TOO soft! Model 106 I bought for Kahr seemed thicker...

Thinner now but still great

I had a model 106 for my Kahr P9 that I bought over a year ago and liked it a lot. This model 106 for the Shield is noticably thinner, but still works fine.
Pros: comfortable - can be worn for cross draw as well
Cons: Being thinner that prior models makes reholstering tougher...

great holster

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 16, 2012
great holster to carry ccw. I carry my S&W shield every day, most of the time in shorts and a t-shirt, with no imprint. Could not ask for a better holster for the money, or even for more money. Have already recommended it to a co-worker who loves it as well. Showed it off to a cop buddy who said he has the exact same one!
Pros: cheap, works great, comfy
Cons: not much retention, but that's not what it's for. ...

Ok, but there are better

I purchased this as to be used as a small concealable holster. First, this is an inside the waistband (ITW) type holster. I thought this would work well, but it wasnt very comfortable. My Ruger SR9C for which this model fits just seems too thick to be used with an ITW holster. Perhaps Im just not used to it, maybe I was doing something wrong, or maybe this pistol isnt intended for this style of holster. In any case, I dont think that is a flaw of this particular holster, just the ITW holsters in general. One thing specific to this holster is I think I would feel better if it had some type of thumb strap or other active restrain system. It only has a passive system that relys on a snug fit to hold the pistol in place. Its probably fine, but I would feel better knowing it was strapped in. Overall, its not a terrible holster, but I think there are better options.
Pros: Relatively cheap
Cons: No thumb strap, fit could be better...
