It has been 30 years since I have bought a new rifle and OP Tech Support was a great help in ordering a mount for my new Remington ADL 700. Chase recommended the DNZ base. Perfect, one piece, no need to line-up the rings. A little stick-um on the screws and it all went together perfectly. Am getting another rifle and will order another DNZ base.
Pros: One piece, did not need to align rings.
Cons: Only one I can think of is since I am on SS was the cost, but it still was a great deal....

One of the best Mounts on Market!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MO Written on August 19, 2011
I purchased this mount for my 280 Remington in the "LOW" height to use with my Burris Signature Select 3-10x40. Mounted the scope with about a 1/4" to spare. This mount is incredibly strong, don't be fooled by the aluminum. 6061 Aluminum is about 1/3 the strength of cold formed steel in terms of volume, but if you make the mount 3 times as thick you now have a product very comparable in strength. That is what they have done here as you can see with 5/8" of threads for the ring caps. This is one very strong and beefy aluminum mount. The best part is, perfect alignment and no ring marks!...

18700 DNZ long action medium mount

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on July 11, 2010
I choose the med mount concerned about the 44M scope .. No problem little less than 1/4 inch at the front clearnace. If your using a scope with enlarged eye pc like a BSA catseye. The clearance with the bolt is very close .I have doubts that a low mount would have worked. If using a scope with a dial on right side of eye piece it will not work with this mount .
Pros: solid mount
Cons: none...

Nice one piece mount

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 22, 2010
I bought this low dednutz mount for my rem 700 ADL after initially using a medium. I wanted to get away from the leupold dual dovetail mounts I was using, because any time I bumped the scope it would shift the zero. I suspected the mounts were the issue, too many mating surfaces and only friction fit connection from ring to base. The medium had excess clearance for my vxII 4-12x40AO and did not provide good cheek weld. When I installed the MEDIUM, I did not use a torque wrench. The scope jumped forward and locked up the power select ring in about 12 shots with my 35 Whelen (very strong recoil). My bad. I decided to get the LOW mount, and installed it with a torque wrench and BLUE Loctite. I applied blue loctite to the mating surface of the base, the base mounting screws, both ring internal surfaces top and bottom, and the ring mounting screws. All screws were torqued to the specified levels on the package. This setup does not move under the stout recoil of the 35 whelen shooting 225 ballistic tips at 2750fps in a lightweight 700ADL rifle. Note, the eye relief is limited by this mount. Fortunately the vxII offers generous non-critical eye relief. I like my scopes mounted with the rear lens above the rear tang on the action, and this mount JUST barely allows this position. If you like a more forward scope position, go with a picatinny setup and deal with the extra weight.
Pros: all one piece, great fit and finish
Cons: fixed position...
