It's Eberlestock, What can you say

by Jerry, from United States, OK Written on August 26, 2014
Nothing but the best when it comes to Eberlestock. This pack is the perfect fit for my 5.6 frame. No I'm not tall but this pack fully loaded to 65lbs can take the weight. The stitching could not be better. The only thing I had to do was add shoe goo to the inside stiches for the top carry handle to add support. This was only due to putting the all 65lbs of weigh of the pack on the handle when putting the pack on and taking it off many times. If you need a little more room then go with the F4 but when this pack is fully loaded it gets bulky fast. The compression straps are the best thought out I've seen in a pack so far. The metal frame aids in strapping a dry bag to.

If you require the best. Eberlestock is it. These packs are worth their weight in gold....

Very mission specific

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on March 2, 2013
I bought this as well as the Gunslinger II and I feel the Gunslinger II is a better pack. Although it doesn't have as much capacity everything just feels more streamlined. I also prefer the single large loading bay in the Gunslinger to the numerous smaller compartments in the Operator. I just feel the Gunslinger II is an improved design, which some nice features such as an integrated padded sunglasses pouch. Still a very nice pack and incredibly well built, but for the $400 retail price you should look at other Eberlestock options as well and make sure you get the one that really fits your needs. Don't just buy this one because it has an NSN and scout snipers use it unless that is part of your mission.
Pros: Large capacity, integral pull out rain cover, can be used as a shooting rest...

Eberlestock G4 Operator Pack

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on November 8, 2012
Great pack, holds everything! BUT keep that in mind because weight adds up fast with all the pockets this has. The price is high so wait for a deal if you are on a budget, but worth every penny.
Pros: Everything
Cons: Price at first glance, but once you have it you'll understand why...

Sometimes paying premium price is well worth it......

Great quality pack and worth every single penny. I am glad I went with this one versus a smaller Eberlestock. All the functionality I was looking for and first rate quality to boot. The only pack I will need anywhere on God's green Earth.
Thanks Optics Planet you always come through.
Pros: Very versatile pack. Lots of adjustability and customizability built on
Cons: Heavy. But durability is much more important to me than a few ounces...

Eberlestock G4 Operator

I can honestly say that this pack is the best tactical gear bag I have every owned. Its size and versatility make it an incredible companion on long hikes, tactical operations, or just throwing a bunch of stuff in for a weekend trip. The gun scabbard included is an incredible plus. I can fit a 7" barrel weapon system in it without ever having to extend the boot and with little coverage from the cover. It comes with its own rainfly in the event that you get caught in a shower and has plenty of PALS/MOLLE webbing on the bag for user customization. The pack rides well with good support. It was incredibly comfortable to wear as long as the load is situated correctly. I overloaded it the first time that I took it out leading to me walking hunched over because the load pulled me backwards. The main downside could also be a pro. The backpack has a system that allows for user setup so that it matches your body type as closely as possible. This can be great or a pain. If you watch the Youtube video where they describe how to customize, it makes it a little easier but you really just need to fiddle with it to get it just right and that takes time. The other con is the price. Let's be honest $400 is a lot to drop on a pack even for serious hikers or military/LE personel. That being said, you are definitely getting your money's worth out of it. By far, the Operator pack has plenty of incredible features to warrant the price. For more information on the details of all thei...

Best Pack Ever

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on December 15, 2011
I had been looking at this pack for awhile, read reviews and visited the manufactures website. Everything I read and saw is true, best pack on the market hands down. Not only does this pack have plenty of room for all the gear you should need to carry, it is also laid out so that all your gear is easy to access. the adjustable harness is easy to figure out and very comfortable even on long hikes with a heavy load.
This is the highest quality pack I have ever seen or carried. It should provide many years of heavy use without fail. It is pricey and might not be the best pack for everyone, but for a serious hiker who needs a true carry all, this is it.
Pros: Tons of features, comfortable to carry
Cons: none...
