Excellent rail

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on February 4, 2013
Great rail, plenty of space for larger optics & very well made. Just know that you cannot use the factory iron sights with this rail installed.
Pros: Solid, extra long rail
Cons: Cannot use iron sights once installed...

Handsome and functional

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on July 20, 2012
I chose the 20 MOA version of the EGW rail so as to give myself a little boost when shooting at 100 yards. It is not at all unsightly and does not detract from the overall function of the rifle. Be sure to Locktite the screws when you install it. ...

Sturdy Scope Base

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MI Written on July 17, 2012
This base is very well machined and looks great on my 10/22. My only issue is the screws that EGW uses. They were rusted and when you torque them down they are VERY easy to strip. They need to improve the finish and include torx screws instead of hex heads. This is a great base overall.
Pros: High Quality Machining
Cons: Screws are soft and rusted...

The EGW Ruger 10-22 Picatinny Rail Scope Mount, 20 MOA is asgood as they come. Top notch products all the way. Have no quams about them. Really nice company, all the products I have from the three picatinny rails to the two sets of scope rings are a great value. And all made in the good old U.S. of A too, no import crap here. USA all the way.
Pros: EGW Products are top notch all the way....

Good extended scope mount for a 10/22

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AL Written on March 10, 2012
I purchased the EGW 20 MOA rail so I could get a little more height adjustment out of my scope at longer ranges. The fit and finish on the scope is nice. It is a dull matte color, so don't expect a shiny finish. As the picture of the rail illustrate, the cross sections of the rail are skeletonized and not solid as on some picatinny rails. This saves weight, but some mounting situations like lever mounts may work better with solid cross pieces. Regular weaver and picatinny rings should have no problem though. Also, the mounting screws are good and the rail comes with a torx wrench.
Pros: Made in the USA! 0 and 20 MOA options. Picatinny versatility....

A Necessary Evil

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 9, 2012
Ruger 10/22s have two problems. First, the front end of the receiver can be machined so that it will point your base (and therefore your scope) upward. This is called "the Ruger Hump". Second, the barrel clamp to the receiver only clamps at the bottom of the barrel, which acts to pull the barrel to point downward. Combine these issues with an older (1970s) Leupold 3x9 VXII with limited elevation adjustment, and you will not be able to sight in. The front of this mount is approximately .029" thinner than the rear of the mount, which effectively compensates for the Ruger Hump and barrel droop and points the scope downward to the point of impact. This allows you to sight in your scope with the elevation adjustment closer to the center of the scope's range of adjustment. I have done a lot of research to find this mount. It solves the problem.
Pros: Serves purpose
Cons: Not many...
