Used on Savage Mark II 22LR

by generalcondition, from United States, TX Written on April 2, 2015
Subsonic 22LR ammo has significant bullet drop at 100 yards. I wanted to Zero my Leupold Vx-3 at 100 yards but did not have enough scope adjustment. With this mount, i can now zero at 100 yds and have adjustment beyond for additional drop. Highly recommend this mount. It is stable, easy to install, well fitted. Great mount to give additional bullet drop compensation for any round on the Savage Mark II....
Best Used for:
  • longer range accuracy

Mount holes do not match holes in receiver.

by T. Furguson, from United States, IN Written on January 22, 2015
Very frustrated.
I read all of the reviews, ordered the correct product, and paid for next day delivery.
The factory holes do not match the holes in the receiver.
The two rear holes line up and the ejection port is aligned, but the two holes for the front of the mount are 1/8 of an inch too far forward (towards the muzzle) of the ejection port.

Other reviews are positive, hopefully this one is just a fluke.
I really wanted to shoot with the family this weekend....

This base worked great for me.i ordered a bsa sweet 22 scope and the scope tube is shorter than most other scopes. I needed a one piece base so I could move the scope rings closer together and this fit the bill....

Savage Rail

by Highflyer, from United States, VA Written on November 12, 2014
The rail fit great, no surprises! Good quality material, looks like it is well designed for this application, a little LocTite on the screws and it will never move. Shipping and customer service with Optics Planet is great!...

Great Base, Well Made

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WY Written on April 20, 2012
I use this base with quick detach rings on multiple rifles and experience zero shift in windage between these rifles. Additionally, I have zero shift in impact when moving the optic fore and aft. This indicates consistent machining throughout each product, and between products....

EGW Picatinny rail for Savage rimfire

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 3, 2011
I am glad that OpticsPlanet carries this rare part. I replaced the factory weaver scope mounts with this Picatinny rail. It allows me to mount the reflex sight I just purchased as well as my traditional Redfield scope. I may purchase an angle-mount for a light/laser. The part is marked for Savage Mark II but also fits my 93R17.
Pros: Accommodates variety of optics and accessories...

***WARNING*** - This rail will not fit newer Savage Mark II rifles

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OH Written on September 20, 2011
Would be great if it would have fit my New Savage Mark II...

The following is from EGW's web site - "If your gun is an older production Mark II, it will have a 1-3/8 ejection port. New production Mark II rifles have a 1-5/8" ejection port and require the use of our Savage 93 mount. Please measure the size of your ejection port prior to ordering to ensure the right fit."

Wish I would have know that before I ordered this one.
Cons: Only made for older Savage Mark II rifles...

Scope mount for Savage mark II TRR

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on August 9, 2011
I got this for my Savage Mark II TRR. The mount that came with it was cumbersome and added too much weight. This mount fit the action great with bolt holes that lined up perfectly and came with correct screws with the correct thread pitch. The only issue i had was that i had cut the mount to allow manual loading and extracting of the 22lr shells. You could leave it alone, but i found that the mount covered the breach a little too much for my taste. I cut just enough of the mount to make room, but left the structure integrity intact. I cut it using an air grinder and then rounded the edges with a file. Worked great since it's made of aluminum. This mount does the job without these modifications, but i just wanted a nicer fitting and more custom feel out of my squirrel gun.
Pros: bolt pattern is exactly the same and comes with correct screws
Cons: needs to be cut and fitted for breach ...
