Legacy Reviewer's Review of EGW Thompson Center Encore Picatinny Rail Scope Mount

I bought this mount for my new 500 S&W barrel for my Encore. It arrived very quickly and upon initial examination, I could tell that it was a strong, good quality mount. The package included a notice that stated some of the screws might be to long due to the different variations of the barrel contours Encores have. This turned out to be the case with my barrel since it has a taper. I have to assume that if it were a full bull barrel the screws would all fit. I only had problems with one screw, the one closest to the beginning of the taper. It was, however, an easy fix. Two or three seconds on the bench grinder brought it down.

The mount itself is very versatile. I wanted to mount a scope with more than two rings to help defend the massive recoil from the 500. The mount long enough that I actually had room to mount two sets of rings on it. I looked around a bit before I bought it, and this was one of the only mounts I could find that was a picatinny with a full set of notches. I'm currently having two barrels made for my pistol, and when I get them I will definitely be putting this same mount on them.
Pros: Strong, Lots of mounting area, low cost
Cons: Long screws
