Great Holographic sight

by PAguy, from United States, PA Written on August 31, 2014
Over the years I've worked with many EOTech sights, by far this one is my favorite. The smaller size and battery life make it a great choice. Shooting with both eyes open is a skill that is hard to master and IMHO very necessary, whether its for combat or home defense, but this sight makes it easy to achieve with little practice.
The only bad thing I have to say its that the "TAN" color sight its really more of a metallic tan as oppose to flat....

Best CQB sight in the world

by Jefferson, from United States, IN Written on August 30, 2014
Got this for great price with a $75 dollar manufacturer's rebate and $40 gift certificate from Optics planet. The Eotech EXPS-3 is arguably the finest CQB gunsight in the world. I've always used Aimpoint in the past for CQB (close-quarters battle) applications and they are second to none for a combat quality gunsights but the EXPS-3 holosight is every bit as well-manufactured and even slightly faster with target aquisition. Light weight, very ruggedly built, comes with QD mount and has longer, more reliable battery life than previous Eotech offerings. I couldn't be happier....

Bulky for a lot of applications

by DHL, from United States, CA Written on August 29, 2014
Really wanted to love this sight, but I cannot use it on a number of firearms I own. Unfortunately, I do not own an AR variant because here in the state of Commiefornia, you are ostracized for owning such a socially irresponsible weapon. And I will not own any firearm that requires a stupid bullet button to change magazines. A formula for getting dead. The issue with using an EOTech on a Ruger mini-14/30 or an M1 carbine is that even though you can mount rail systems to these firearms, the optical axis of the reticule is too high above the barrel, and you cannot obtain a proper cheek weld with the stock. I'm sure its great on an AR, but not on another carbine with sight axis close to the barrel and a fixed wood stock. The high displacement also means that at point blank range (10-15 ft) you are hitting 2 inches low if zeroed at 100 yds. Not so great in critical HD situations. I also have a Desert Eagle that I wanted to mount it on, but soon realized it is way too heavy and bulky (even on a DE) to use on any handgun. So I ended buying a few Aimpoint Micros that fit the bill perfectly.

I have to say the strongest feature EOTech has is that reticule. Above and beyond way better than any plain red dot. Great parallax performance, wide field of view (the Aimpoints are like looking through a thick walled tube), bright and clear (even with astigmatism), easy to acquire in a hurry. And, you cannot be detected from the barrel end when using (try that with an Aimpoint in a dark room...

EOTech EXPS 3-0

by Johny6, from United States, NJ Written on August 12, 2014
This is my 6th EOTech Holigraphic Weapons Sight and by far it is the best that I have owned. Better in a way that it is lighter and has a smaller footrpint. All the EOTech HWS I won were the two battery version. This is my first one battery version. As usual, it is easy to get a lock on the target. Just place the target in the 65 MOA circle and squeeze. With its quick release lever, returning to zero is a breeze. I can also switch the sight between weapons....
Pros:
  • Compact and Light
Cons:
  • none noticed
Best Used for:
  • shooting

EXPS3-2 two dot EOTech

by ARGuy, from United States, NC Written on August 12, 2014
Very happy with this one. I wanted the side buttons for possible magnifier use (down the road) and the newer low footprint options were a marked improvement over the older design, the battery orientation supposedly helps too. I struggled with which reticle to pick, ultimately the two dot was the best combination of quick, low clutter display, vs intermediate aiming marks for rare longer distance. Its a no mag optic, so its not a primary distance device, but the second dot gives me an extra option in between the center dot and the bottom of the 65MOA circle. Very well put together overall. I'm very happy with it mounted on my rifle! (First EOTech, have an Aimpoint T1 and a few generic red dots for comparison.)...

EXPS3-2 TAN

by HoustonTX, from United States, TX Written on August 6, 2014
Fast free shipping from OpticsPlanet. Great product! EOTech EXPS3-2, High quality as expected from EOTech. The two center 1MOA dots stay sharp and appears to maintain the 1MOA under the matching G33 3x magnifier. The quick detach is easy to use, and the EXPS maintains it's zero after remounting. The EOTech with the matching magnifier is a little on the heavy side, but I think this tool is well worth the weight....
Pros:
  • QUALITY OPTIC
  • easy to use
  • reliable
  • maintains zero
Cons:
  • Pricey!!!!!!
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • target
  • CQB

Beyond expectations!

by Western ma shooter, from United States, MA Written on July 30, 2014
These sights are extremely superb! My brother has an eotech so I had to one up him and got this one. The sights are easy to sight in and are very accurate once sighted in. I can hit a soda can at 225yds with the rear peep sight and eotech with ease. Using the rear peep sight (if equipped) focuses the circle and allows for easier longer range shooting. I'd define toy recommend these especially seeing as how the US military uses them!...
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • Accurate
  • Fast sighting
Cons:
  • None yet!
Best Used for:
  • Ar platforms
  • Close range (75yds or less)
