Cons: Sight loosens after two or three firings of .223
Would recommend: yes

This is my first Eotech sight. I originally wanted an Aimpoint, but I liked the open view and easy two-eyes open useability of the Eotech. The reticle takes some getting used to as it is not clearly defined, but is instead made up of rather large 'pixel's. The center point on mine looks rather more like a triangle. These effects are minimised when using the sight properly and maintaining focus on the target however. My big complaint is that the sight won't stay tight to the rail. I have the XPS3-0 installed on a late model Ruger Mini-14 ranch rifle, and every two or three shots the sight is loose. Sure I could loctite the screw, but then the whole reason for having an easily removed and replaced sight is negated. I guess I have to add, "stop after every three shots and retighten sight" to my shooting scenarios. Maybe I'll sell this and get an Aimpoint.

Pros: form factor, rugged, reliability, ease of use
Cons: none (cost, but you get what you pay for)
Would recommend: yes

You cannot go wrong with Eotech and the form factor on this model is perfect (e.g. small/compact). CR123 battery is better than AA (you can leave in the CR123 if you don't plan on shooting for some time; not recommended with common AA batteries). Don't look further.

Pros: Works just like they say it does, rapid acquisition, sturdy.
Cons: Haven't found any yet
Would recommend: yes

Works well, it really is fast. Programmable brightness when turning the unit on would have been nice, and I broke the rubber battery cap leash when I took the cap off, I could have been more careful, but I just had to see what kind of battery was in there and how easy it was to change. It came with an extra one, but I think most of them come with a braided steel cable now instead of what I ended up with. All in all it's badass.

This is my first Eotech and so far I have not had any problems with the optic. The reticle is fast and easy to use. The only down side thus far has been battery life.

Pros: Double dots, fine clarity, excellent workmanship
Cons: Didn't realiz the dots were set up for 5.56mm ammo
Would recommend: yes

Please make customers aware that this unit is set up mainly for the trajectory of a 5.56mm round. I wanted to mount it on an M-14 or Storm CX carbine in .40 S&W cal. but after reading the fine print, I may have to extrapolate a lot of figures to ascertain where my bullets will strike using the 2 different dots.

Yeah, there are several other great site systems and companies, but, for the money, application, reliability and ease of use, I think EOTech are the best Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) systems on the market. I chose the EOTech XPS3 because of its shorter length to mount on my SR556. It not only looks good but the XPS3 was so easy to install and zero in. It works well, without any hindrance, at allowing full use of the original folding battle sites that came with the weapon. I also purchased EOTech because if it's good enough for the U.S. military and police, it surely is good enough for this law abiding citizen. Thanks again OpticsPlanet.

I've been an Eotech fan for many years. The XPS-series has made an already great product even better. Any battery-contact issues are addressed by the transverse-mounted battery, and the model retains the outstanding peripheral vision associated with all Eotechs. Functioning has been flawless. The XPS mounting height maintains the absolute co-witness with iron sights that I prefer.
