Excellent product

Excellent product. Good experience with customer service, had to change lens colour, always got a quick reply. Order tracking was a bit quirky, said they were shipped Nov 18th, but then they were actually shipped Nov 30th and not received in Australia till Dec 15th, so a month elapsed from ordering to receipt.
Pros: High quality prescription lenses, hard-wearing frame material
Cons: Long wait for delivery to Australia...

Very comfortable

I really like these glasses. They are really comfortable to wear for extended periods of time even while wearing my ACH and the field of vision is excellent. The Transition lenses are a great addition in the field, I can wear them all day and night without having to switch lenses or carry two pairs of ballistic glasses (one clear and one smoke). I also tried the ESS Flyby glasses but they were a little too big.
Pros: Very comfortable and good visability
Cons: Look a little goofy when Transitions lenses are clear...

Definitely meet expectations

I was a little worried to order prescription sunglasses without trying them on, but overall I am very satisfied. I usually have a hard time finding sunglasses to fit my fairly narrow face. They look great and fit my face great. The only downside is that after wearing them for several hours they dig in a little behind the ears.
Pros: Fit well, seem durable
Cons: Dig in a little behind the ears...

LOVE IT!!!!

It is true that it is a bit scary to order from a website. Especially prescription glasses. it takes about a month to get and the no return on prescription eyewear is scary, however Optics Planet done a GREAT job. i love them. the result is a very high quality work and about 2/3 of the price that it would cost me in physical store like lens crafter. Thanks Optics Planet!
Pros: Perfect!...

Progressive Lenses are awful

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, VA Written on May 3, 2010
I ordered the ESS Recon prescription sunglasses with progressive lenses. If you've never had them, letter/number combinations are watermarked (etched) onto the lenses. On these glasses them were watermarked 15 degrees off center, and every time I look slightly left or right my field of vision blurs in one eye because of this. When I contacted customer service the first time they sent me an e-mail about return policy - which prohibits returning prescription eyewear. The second call resulted in a phone message about a totally different product than I ordered. I'm leaving for Afghanistan shortly and I hate these glasses. I doubt I'll be ordering from here ever again.
Pros: They got here on time
Cons: Blurry lenses; bad customer service...

Great glasses!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on January 22, 2010
I wear contacts, but if something goes 'bump' in the night, I need something I can put on quickly to correct my vision and protect my eyes. These glasses fit the bill perfectly. They are so nice that I find myself wearing them all morning now, only putting in my contacts before I go to work. They are very light-weight. No headaches from super-heavy glasses! The mil and ANSI specs mean my eyes are safe. I like the anti-glare coating for situations where I might have to use a tactical light too. These glasses are also just the right size for people who don't have big fat heads. I have a normal sized head and some glasses stick way out from the side of my head and look/perform terribly as a result. The Recon High Adrenaline glasses fit me much better, look nicer and are much less likely to get snagged on something or bump into things. I can't say enough good things about these glasses. Exactly what I wanted at a decent price. I would definitely buy this model again and use optics planet to do it. That pretty much says it all. =)
Pros: Extremely light and mil/ANSI spec safety
Cons: they weren't free...
