Great Bore Site

by RH, from United States, AL Written on January 29, 2015
We used this to bore sight a M-14, and it did a great job. On paper and within 1" of target first time out. The price is reasonable as I caught it on sale. The item is fool proof and any one can use it. Great product....

Sadly, no use to me.

by Yacker777, from New Zealand, NELSON Written on December 30, 2014
I purchased the Firefield Laser Bore Sight in .308wn for my Sako A7. The price was good, and the bore sight arrived in good packaging with instructions, battery, a paper target etc.
However the laser is not visible in daylight, any further than perhaps 15-20m on a shaded surface, I have had 5mW red lasers before on keychains etc; these performed better.
Secondly I cannot close the action on my A7 with this in the breach; the rim on the bore sight 'cartridge' is machined to thick. This makes using it very awkward and throws any thoughts of real accuracy out the window. Not recommended....
Pros:
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • Not visible in daylight
  • Very poor effective range
  • May not fit your breach
  • No ON/OFF, must disassemble batteries
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight

Missing part and not adjusted at factory

by Steve, from United States, TX Written on November 27, 2014
The package is new and was missing the battery sleeve. On the package it noted as included. The body looked horrible. Very bad machining job. Worst then Chinese made on eBay. The body did not fix the chamber correctly. When shaken near my ear I can hear rattling. The anodizing was not very good. I purchase a Chinese made bore sight bullet on eBay and found it was more accurate. Even the machine was better. Also there is no on/off switch. Batteries have to be remove after each uses....

There should be an alternate way to turn this boresight on. This will save the batteries rather than replacing the batteries every time....
