Firefield 3-12X40 AO Works

by ARizona, from United States, AZ Written on October 17, 2014
Mounted on 18in Wylde sighted in and holds zero well enough. The last two five shot groups were sub MOA. Best was .720 in. with a flier. Should work for coyote day or night. Needed taller rings for AR platform....
Pros:
  • Price
  • Adjustable Objective
Cons:
  • supplied rings
Best Used for:
  • Target/Hunting

Not worth $5

by Bagar, from United States, VA Written on October 14, 2014
Purchased for .22lr to use as a trainer for my .308. Wanted a mil dot scope to practice ranging and dialing correct dope. Zero'd at 50 yds and was very impressed for the money. Dialed up for 200yds and was able to get a solid group. Dialed back to zero and was way off. Zer'd scope at 50yds again and left range. Next time out checked zero at 50 yds and was way off. Zero'd again. Checked mounts and rings and nothing had moved. Torque is correct on rings. Dialed up for 100yds and lost zero again. It's at least 5 moa off trying to return to zero. Will not hold a zero at all. Very cheap scope. Won't hold zero in a case transporting to and from the range. Spend more and get a quality scope or risk getting one that is junk and throwing away $80....

Great value

by DJ in Wisc, from United States, WI Written on August 30, 2014
I'll admit that I bought this scope basically on a whim. It appeared to have the features that I wanted but I knew nothing about Firefield scopes. The price was right though so I ordered it for my new Savage Mk II. I have been very pleased with the scope. It mounted effortlessly into the rings and was within 3 inches of zero with the first two shots. I made adjustments for the 3 inches and the scope accurately reflected the 1/4" per click adjustments for both windage and elevation. Yes, it took two shots to zero this scope. The adjustable objective keeps the targets focussed and the 3 to 12 power is just what my aging eyes need. Honestly, I haven't used the lighted reticle and it's not a feature that I need or will ever likely use. The features of this scope could easily result in a selling price of $150 or more, in my opinion, and that's what makes this scope a great value....
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Adjustable Objective
  • Accurate adjustments
  • Looks great
  • magnification range
Cons:
  • can't think of any
Best Used for:
  • just about any application

Firefield 3-12x40 IR Mil dot Tactical Riflescope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 17, 2014
The eye relief is somewhat close for comfort, I would have preferred a 1/8 MOA per click at 100 yards. Overall, the riflescope appears robust. I would expect high praises if it survives the 7MM Magnum....
