by Bjm, from United States, NJ Written on December 26, 2014
I Love it. Holster is extremely Comfortable. Can't wait to use it. Been looking for an ankle holster for a while and haven't found one as comfortable as this one. I recommend this product. Fast shipping as well....

fits very snug

by SteveC, from United States, CA Written on December 22, 2014
I bought this for my Sig P238, had to really work the gun to get the hammer strap snapped. Also coated the inside of the holster with EZ Draw. Seems very comfortable, have only worn it a few times so far....

Great ankle holster.

by Andrew, from United States, MO Written on December 21, 2014
Great holster, comfortable, good quality, and stays in place. I like the lambs wool between my leg and the gun. You don't ever feel the gun wearing on the side of you leg.
The reason for four stars and not five is that the circumference is a bit small for my ankles which are 12 inches with socks. It fits, but it's on the edge of the velcro. They make a boot extension, but I think it would make it to big.
One thing you should know is that this holster need some breaking in. I called Galco because the gun would not fit. They told me how to stretch the holster out by putting your gun in to two good heavy zip-lock bag and pushing it into the holster at the same time pulling on the lock strap. Once stretched enough, leave the gun in the bags, locked in the holster for a few days. I was surprised at how much the holster did stretch. Just be sure that it is in fact the correct holder for your gun by checking the part number on the holster....
Pros:
  • Quality
  • stays in place
  • comfortable to wear
  • Lambs wool
Cons:
  • lot quite big enough
Best Used for:
  • Deep concealment

Galco Ankle Lite Holster

by Curry, from United States, NY Written on December 16, 2014
The Galco Ankle Lite holster is great and well worth the reasonable price. It holds Charter Off Duty perfectly and secures well with a tight thumb break. The inside padding is wonderful. The only negative is a slight wiggle when you move, even with the wrap around strap tight, but I don't see how anything practical could hold a gun's weight without some minimal movement....

Galco Ankle Lite Holster - Sig P238

by kb2076, from United States, CA Written on December 9, 2014
This is my fourth Galco holster and they make high quality holsters, but I have one problem with this one and that is the retention strap. The holster and strap are designed to carry the gun with the hammer down which is not recommended for this gun. I emailed Galco to see why the strap wasn't working properly with the hammer back and they told me "All of our holsters with retention straps are meant for hammer down carry only." That would be perfectly fine for some guns but not all guns operate the same.

Aside from that it is very well made, very comfortable even without the extra calf strap I didn't have any problems with sagging. The sheep skin lining is also a very nice touch and is soft enough you don't feel anything sharp or hard against your ankle....
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Fit
  • Comfort
  • materials
Cons:
  • retention strap
Best Used for:
  • concealed carry

REALLY tight fit but it works

by KAZ, from United States, AR Written on November 17, 2014
When it arrived I tried putting my Ruger LCR in it. The gun fit fine but the retention strap wouldn't close. My LCR has the Crimson Trace Laser grip, installed by Ruger .......... no mention of it when I ordered it being an issue.
I was ready to return it ..... but elected to contact GALCO. They got right back to me to explain how to stretch the retention straps so they will fit my gun. I followed their instructions and the strap fits ....... tight, but it fits....

Awesome carry option

by Capt Mike, from United States, VA Written on October 11, 2014
The ankle holster is perfect as an alternate or backup carry option. I had one for my Sig P938, just sold it, and immediately purchased another ankle lite for the new EDC. It fits under all my jeans or slacks, with all my footwear, and no one knows. The sheepskin on the inside is great; you forget you have it on. Only sometimes, if you don't have it strapped quite right or tight enough, it will slip down and ride on your ankle bone. But, that's my fault and not the holsters, and when I re-strap it on better, it stays all day. Highly recommend....

This is my second Galco ankle holster, first Ankle lite. Gotta say its just as good as the Ankle glove. No rocking on the ankle, velcro doesn't open, smooth to draw from. Makes my shield completely invisible (with long pants of course)...
Pros:
  • comfortable,
  • concealed
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • CCW
