DISSAPOINTED IN GRANBURY, TX

by old bowhunter, from United States, TX Written on July 31, 2014
THIS HOLSTER IS VERY STIFF AND SEEMS TO BE TO SMALL. I HAD TO FORCE MY GLOCK 19 INTO THE HOLSTER, THEN IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES TO EXTRICATE THE FIREARM, IT WAS VERY DISSAPOINTING. I KEPT THE HOLSTER HOPING IT WILL LOOSEN UP BUT I HAVE A HUNCH IT IS GOING TO TAKE QUITE AWHILE IF EVER. THERE MUST BE A BETTER FITTING HOLSTERS OUT THERE....

Accessory rail notch snags during draw

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, VA Written on May 11, 2013
Slight changes in the angle of draw dramatically affect smoothness of draw. The sights do not snag - the sewn in rails work great. But, even adjusting the tensioning screw to the point of looseness does not eliminate snagging during draw. The snag appears to be due to the sharp edge of the notch of the Glock 19 accessory rail. The notch seems to catch on the holster's leather near the tensioning screw. I have contacted Galco for suggested remediation. I really like the fit of the Avenger holster. The one which I use for a Browning Hi Power is comfortable and smooth in all draws. As is, i must change how i draw the Glock 19 from this Avenger. Fewer snags arise when I rotate the sights into the sight rails during a draw. So, perhaps with some slight modification to the holster and to my technique, this Avenger might be useful for everyday carry.
Pros: Comfort, concealment
Cons: Snags...

1st time bad luck with Galco

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on June 15, 2010
This is the first holster from Galco, as I have bought a number of their holsters, that, quite frankly was useless to me. I have tried using a little silicone spray, lightly sprayed the leather with water, wrapped my weapon in plastic and placed (forced) in the holster...two days later, it's still hard to extract. Being in law enforcement, the last thing I need is not being able to pull my weapon when needed. The holster looks like quality material, excellent stitching and looks great. Unfortunately, I will not risk my life with a holster that looks good, but one that is dependable and allows me to draw my weapon without yanking and struggling to get it free. After repeated attempts, I gave up and threw it in a box in the closet. Too bad.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Hard to get gun out...
