Pros: Galco Quality Leather and Good Looks
Cons: Unreliable for rapid weapon deployment
Would recommend: no

Tried the finger stretch recommmended by Galco and the application of Galco Draw EZ. ALso adjusted retention screws. Anyway you look at if you pull hard enough you can point your holstered weapon in self defence. I have a Model 60 and 620 S&W. Both have the same problem. Seemed that Galco worried a little too much about accidental weapon remomal. The bottom line is that the holster is not a good fit. From my observation the trigger guard pushes so tight into the rubber adjuster that no amount of streatching will suffice. The gun also has a straight vertical profile. The pictures would indicate a 15 to 20% forward profile that would also aid in draw speed. I also have the ankle holster with same permanent carry results. My Galco combat master is perfect. Ease and speed of draw and supportive. This is an outside belt mount holster but excellent self defense holster. No more difficult to put on than trying to get that padde over your belt and into proper cayy position.

It is a high quality product and it was a perfect fit for my S&W 438. I would buy another Galco from Opticsplanet whenever I need another holster.

Pros: Quality construction
Cons: too bulky for concealed carry

The full leather construction of other holsters makes them more suitable for concealed carry as they don't protrude like the belt fastner on this particular holster causes.

Reccomend if you know paddle holsters. Not as stable a platform as belt or loop. Not as concealable.

Pros: Great holster especially for the price. Fits my gun great!
Cons: Hard plastic paddle can be uncomfortable
Would recommend: yes

Love the holster. It is well made and affordable. It was also the only holster I could find to fit my 3" bbl 686P, everybody else tried to sell me a model that would fit up to 4". On the minus side the hard plastic paddle can be uncomfortable but I will be replacing it with one I am making out of stiffened leather which is a snap!

Pros: Holds gun securely and paddle doesn't move on pants/belt.
Cons: tension screw has loosened even with clear nail polish applied to threads as stated by Galco
Would recommend: yes
diona wrote:
The open top design holds the gun securely and leaves for an easy draw. The paddles textured finish holds holster in place on pants/belt with no movement.
