I was skeptical about purchasing the biometric scanner after reading several reviews about poor fingerprint recognition. After setting it up and attempting to open it over and over again, I had no problems at all with this unit. Of course, when you swipe too quickly, it doesn't recognize, but a normal speed swipe takes literally 1-2 seconds. If you need faster access than that, I don't think any other safe will offer it. I set up my wife's fingerprint and she was able to unlock the safe 10 out of the next 10 tries.

Cons:  The finger buttons that are the Gun Vault tradmark are not active on this product

The only issue is that nowhere in any documentation does it say that the 4 finger button locking that is the Gun Vault trademark does not work. They are for show. The only ways into this box are the key or the fingerprint reader. I would have liked that 3rd option of the eyes closed entry with the 4 buttons, but still, highly recommend this box for securing anything on the go.
