JP Enterprises 8 Minute of Angle Dot Sight JPoint8

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on September 22, 2013
Got this sight for my 12 ga. tactical shotgun. Very happy with dot visibility in all light conditions. Mounted it on my shotgun, went to the range, was dead-on right out of the box shooting foster slugs at 25 yards. Two of my range buddies who also shot my gun were impressed as well.
Pros: Small, simple, rugged.
Cons: A bit expensive for what it is....
Would recommend: Yes

JPoint 8 MOA Dot Sight on Glock 26

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, SC Written on November 22, 2011
Mounted the sight using the JP Glock rear sight dovetail mount. Installation was not difficult for a DIY with average skills. Sighting in was quick. After 200 rounds through gun, no detectable sight drift. 8 MOA dot much easier to acquire than 2 or 1 MOA dots. The lack of an on-off switch will deplete the battery with the gun in storage, but this is my wife's bedside weapon, so always-on is a feature rather than a fault. The low profile does not detract from concealability and does not deter drawing at all. The only improvement I would recommend is a circle around the dot to assist in sight acquisition.
Pros: Good presentation, very stable
Cons: No ON-OFF switch (not an issue for home protection weapon)...
Would recommend: Yes

JPoint for IPSC Gun

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 8, 2011
I installed this on an old IPSC gun that had a tube style red dot. The old mount broke and the company is no longer in business. I tried other mounts but the mounting holes did not match. This was the easiest solution. The dot is a little harder to pick up but that may just be a training issue. I'm a little worried about the duriblity. Only time will tell
Pros: Small. Light
Cons: No off switch, Harder to pick up dot than a tube style red dot...

JP Enterprises JPoint 8 Minute of Angle Dot Sight JPoint8

It took two sessions at the range to get the product sighted in. Why? I didnt read the instructions. If you dont read the instructions, you risk damaging the sight. And, over adjustment can damage the sight and is not covered under warranty. I am a pistol hunter of 25+ years. The 8 moa might be a little big for hunting. Inside of 75 yards is ok. 4 moa would be more appropriate for my use (100-125 yards). Sight is mounted on Freedom Arms 475 Linebaugh and now has about 50 rounds thru it, so far so good. Adjustments track well(once you figure out which way to turn them) Next range session will tell the story.
Pros: Adjustments track well (once you figure out which way to turn them), reasonable cost
Cons: Adjustment directions not indictated on sight, L - R, U - D ...
Would recommend: Yes
