awesome spotting scope at a great price

by Sim, from United States, CA Written on April 2, 2015
I use this badboy at my outdoor range and I shoot 200 yards. With this scope my 556 bullet holes appear clear. I would totally recommend this spotting scope to anyone looking to buy one under $300. Amazing deal....

great scope

by mark, from United States, FL Written on March 11, 2015
I took a real long time to buy a spotting scope that would also used for an occasional look at Jupiter , moon , Saturn as well as mostly checking out the birds at the backyard feeder . many hours spent scanning these very same reviews on many possible scope candidates . I wanted a large aperture for light gathering ability at high magnification [ I have used scopes that got noticeably dimmed at their upper power range . ] - well, time and patience have paid off and I am quite pleased with my purchase of the konus 7122 . big aperture [ 100 mm] and it stays bright and clear at 60 power . i'm happy . I have read some criticisms about this scope and konus has addressed these issues . first is the issue of the included travel/protective cover not fitting with the eyepiece installed -- fixed -- the supplied cover will do its job with the eyepiece installed and is made to be able to use the scope with the cover on . -- second -- the scope is not balanced / big end heavy -- fixed-- konus now supplies an adjustable mount to move the balance point forward -- good job konus !!! also , there were some negatives about this scope being big and heavy . news flash !!! 100mm scopes are big - way bigger than a 60 - get over it -- big aperture scopes are big - I bought it because I wanted big . don't buy a 100mm scope and then be surprised that it is big . of course it is large . and it weighs about 5 lbs . has an alloy tube /not plastic . oh, excuse me! should I have said POLYMER ? how ...

7122 spotting scope

by cpt, from United States, FL Written on March 10, 2015
Have not used the product in the field. It will not fit in the case with the exr on. Also way to heavy for a window mount syatem. I wish someone would make a window mount system for a large heavy spooting scope. My tri-pod has a difficult time holding the spooting scope up. great price , poor design....

Konus #7122 100mm angled scope

by bobdkcld, from United States, SC Written on January 2, 2015
The unit is fairly large and has some weight to it so you will need a sturdy tripod. Earlier models did not have the extended bar to mount the scope on the tripod for balance and some said the eyepiece had to be taken off to it put back in its case. This model you do not need to do that. The Konus Spotting scope is good up to 200 yds. At 300 yds. it is OK as long as the mirage is low to nothing. So in the winter time it seems OK, but once the summer hits and the mirage gets heavy, it is going to be difficult to see your shots at 300 yds....

This should be your FIRST Spotting Scope

by Dimitri, from United States, NY Written on December 17, 2014
This product is amazing. I took it out for a 200 yard range day and on lower powers it had no problem seeing the black holes that a .308 makes. The fact it has a camera mount makes this product amazing and I can say it would out preform some higher priced models.

When reading up on this scope, people were saying about purple rings around the lens at higher powers. That is true, in my case, but when I pulled over the sun cover in the front it eliminated most of the purple....
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • Clear
  • Solid Frame
  • Camera Mount
Cons:
  • Bulky
  • Purple Rings on high power
Best Used for:
  • Range use
  • Animal Watching

Konus Konuspot 20-60x100 Spotting Scope

by jae13, from United States, TX Written on December 15, 2014
Well built with smooth focus and clear sight in good light. Purchased to use at the gun range. The fitted bag will not let you insert the scope with the tripod mounting foot attached to the scope. Other than that I am happy with my purchase. Now looking for a more suitable bag to carry the scope and it's accessories in....

Bright Spotting Scope by Konus Konuspot!

by John, from United States, NM Written on December 10, 2014
This is a bright scope with no problem identifying .223 caliber holes at 200-300 yards. Need a heavy duty tripod to prevent tip-over. For the money this is an excellent value. Consider purchasing a padded case from someone like Creedmoor Sports....

Konus20-60x100 Spotting Scope

by fast shooter, from United States, GA Written on November 20, 2014
Very good scope for the money and very clear. The only problem, as most reviews said the scope is front heavy. These new scopes come with a bracket to off set the weight which probably works good for scope stands the have a horizontal mount but mine has a vertical side mount and the scope will want to drop easily if bumped, but still I think great value for the money....

Konus Konuspot 20-60x100 Spotting Scope

by RoanWrangler, from United States, MD Written on November 12, 2014
Most likely a fair value for the price.

The scope is used for spotting .223 holes at
100 and 200 yards. I find it difficult to
see the holes clearly at either distance using various colors
and splatter/paper targets.

The size is something to consider. A solid
stand is needed and plenty of room to haul around.

Before purchasing, I tried the 80mm version and thought
that the view was fine at 200 yards. Sometimes, bigger
is not better. The view is roughly equivalent to the
63mm Bushnell it was intended to replace.

Wish I had saved for a better scope, but I may need to
spend 5 - 7 times more....

  • Paperweight

Konus Konuspot 20-60x100 Spotting Scope - 7122 100mm

by butch56, from United States, NY Written on September 1, 2014
I found the optic to be very good the 100mm lens let in allot of light. Made it much easier to see holes at 300 yards. This spotting scope is big and you will need a real good stand to hold the scope steady. worth the money...
