DBAL-I2 by Steiner

by Geetacky, from United States, VA Written on April 13, 2015
Product is as advertised. capable of painting target with IR up to 150+ meters at night. Doesn't have the IR illumination of the DBAL D2 but more than sufficient for wild bore hunting etc. The price point is good in comparison to similar products on the market and unlike the EOTECH match this product has the option of a green visible laser....

Steiner DBAL-I2 Dual Beam Laser

by Steve, from United States, OH Written on April 8, 2015
Solidly built unit. Both lasers give good illumination downrange. Haven't had a chance to sight in the IR yet, but the visible laser was a snap. Mounts solid and is lighter than I anticipated. Shipping was fast....

DBAL is the real deal, the green laser is incredibly bright

by Sealsucker, from United States, CA Written on March 28, 2015
The whole reason I chose this unit over the Insight Aptial-C is because I couldn't find the Insight model with a green laser. If your only using the IR laser, that won't matter, and they are both IR restricted anyway. This unit is really nice for the money, Milspec quality, with no shift after zeroing. My only complaint, and hence the 4 stars instead of 5 is that if mounted on the top rail of your handguard (I prefer since it's more protected and out of the way) it sits high in my optics, both an Aimpoint (with lower 1/3 mount) and my Eotech XPS3. Since the device sits rather high, it takes up part of your optics viewing window, and on the Aimpoint PRO, it reduces your sight picture considerably. The Eotech with its included throw lever mount has a larger window to begin with, so the viewing area seems less obscured, (although it's probably actually the same height wise, it just appears less cramped with the Dbal in front of it-). Unlike the stock A2 front sight which seems to disappear in magnified optics when looking through them, the Dbal "box" is clearly visible (though blurred) through magnified optics, again, a reduced sight picture. I have read the Insight Aptial sits lower on the rail than the DBAL, but I have not tried one so I cannot confirm this. If the Insight unit does indeed sit lower, this may be a reason to buy one instead of the Dbal if you plan on mounting it on your top rail, if not, it wouldn't matter. The Aptial looks just like the military issued model a...

DBAL-I2 seems to be quality and great

by cannonman, from United States, UT Written on March 14, 2015
I recently bought this DBAL-I2, It works great. its a momentary IR and Regular laser with hi and low selective settings. Push the button on the unit or the pressure pad twice in a fast sequence and it stays on constant. For the price compared to the other DBAL's it seems to do the trick quite well. On regular laser High mode, you can almost see the beam of the laser when its projecting to the target. Wish they made this with a White/IR light built into it so you can keep the bulk on your rifle to a minimum....

DBAL I2 Excellence

by Jon, from United States, CA Written on January 21, 2015
I was very pleased with this laser device. You get high reliability in a economical laser aiming system. Left me wanting very little. The housing is very robust, and the placement of the controls are intuitive. This is not your cheap knock off laser from China. I would say left me wanting nothing if it had a lower setting for the visible laser setting, but not a deal breaker at all. Love this thing and would definitely recommend....
Pros:
  • durable
  • Solid lockup

Great product

by Cid, from United States, AR Written on January 11, 2015
This is a great civilian legal laser device. I mainly purchased it for the IR laser, but the visible laser is a nice bonus. It is easy to install, and relatively easy to zero. Make sure you read the manual before attempting to zero, as there are one or two tricks involving the windage and elevation dials. The IR laser is very bright and easy to see out to 200-300 meters. Not quite the equal of the PEQ military laser, but for a civilian legal legal laser that costs about 2/3 less than a PEQ, it's a great value. My one complaint so far is that the remote switch unplugs a little too easily....

Great product. Manufacturer has excellent customer service as they quickly answered my questions prior to purchase. The OP price was all over map prior to XMAS. Be patient and watch price carefully before ordering. That said, OP seemed to have the price. I'll be looking to buy again from OP....

Quality Product

by Morris, from United States, CA Written on January 2, 2015
I received my DBAL-I2 and am very impressed with the construction and quality of this device. The device is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I like the locations of the controls and the functionality. Of course, now I just need night vision...I would definitely recommend this product. Customer service called me and informed me that it was backordered for a week and sure enough it showed up a week later. The price is a little high (received a 11% discount)but considering the quality, I would purchase it again....
