Good concept

by presentglory, from United States, FL Written on March 5, 2015
I watched their installation video had some trouble removing the slide release lever retaining spring so called Lasermax and they helped me figure it out. I also had trouble installing the slide release lever but finally got it in place. The Green laser sight turned on so I put the slide in. I had trouble locking the slide back to check the chamber and couldn't release the slide using the slide release lever and moving the slide forward. I thought that I had installed the laser sight wrong so I went to my gunsmith and he was able to lock the slide back and release the slide from the frame. He reassured me that it was working properly. Then I called Lasermax again about the troubles I was having and they told me to fire about three magazines and that the sight would "settle in". It's a quality made product but a little expensive and needs to be replaced after 5000 rounds. If I had to do all over again, I wouldn't buy it. I really like Optics Planet and have bought several products from them. They gave me the best price I could find on this product and their service has always been excellent....
Pros:
  • quality product
Cons:
  • Trouble with the normal function of the slide.
Best Used for:
  • Fast target aquisition

LaserMax Green Guide Rod for Glock 20SF

by gbrown, from United States, TX Written on February 24, 2015
I purchased the LaserMax Green Guide Rod for my Glock 20SF because I have fairly small hands and did not want to add the laser grip because I was afraid that it would make the grip too bulky so I opted for the guide rod instead. The instructions were pretty clear to understand and I am pretty mechanically inclined so I decided to install it myself. After about 10 minutes, I had the LaserMax Guide Rod installed. The operation is easy to manipulate and the green laser is easy to see. The only comment I could make that I don't like is that there is only one setting for the laser and that is pulsating. If they could make it a constant green beam, I would have rated it 5 stars. The sights line up flawlessly with the iron sights so I was impressed with the ease of installation and LaserMax definitely has this one figured out....
Pros:
  • Green laser visible in direct sunlight at self-defense distances
  • easy to zero and to operate
  • Easy to install, accurate and reliable
Cons:
  • pulsing laser vs. solid beam

Great Product sold by Great Company!

by Modelman, from United States, MO Written on January 17, 2015
I bought a Glock 30S, & it seems to be Last on the priority on the list to get a guiderod laser, so I bought a 17 because their was a Green guiderod laser for it.
They told me They thought it was Gen4. It was Gen 3. OPTICSPLANET exchanged it at Their expense. Now I will add pressure switch to operate on demand. Something Lasermax Should do. I will also power it by the 4-18650 cells that power a 12,000 lumen strobe. Again on demand. Blind Your Opposition, At vantage You. (Laser flashes @ different rate from Strobe, Always Easier to see Even in the middle of 12,000 Blinding Lumans....
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • UPS takes 3 days to get it from Chicago to St. Louis then USPS takes 3 days to drive it 20 miles

Totally Satisfied with Product & Service

by Tren W., from United States, WA Written on August 29, 2014
Once the laser is installed it works perfectly. But it is not an easy unit to install, and should be installed by a professional or gunsmith. But the product is well worth the money and works perfectly. I have fired many rounds at 50ft combining this laser with my iron sights, and the laser is spot on. I have also fired it from waist level, and it performs perfectly. On a IDPA target at 50ft all shots placed well within the kill zone circle, and many of the shots were well grouped. I do highly recommend this product as sold by Optics planet. I think the price is very reasonable....

This is the best handgun laser I've owned!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 24, 2014
I've owned various lasers including grips and rail-mounted compact models, but this is the only one that's completely integral to the gun! Once you install it, it's out of sight and mind, until you need it. It's great that I can have my laser while still keeping rail space for a flashlight and I can use my own grips. This came precalibrated for my Glock and needed no adjustments once I installed it. It aims straight and true, right out of the box! My only con is that it took a novice like me about 15 minutes to install it. There are good videos online showing the installation process so I highly recommend watching them first to save yourself some time. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints about this laser! I couldn't be more happy with it.
Pros: Integral design, Bright, Factory Calibrated
Cons: None!...

There's no better laser for my glock

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WI Written on February 24, 2014
I really like the internal guide rod compared to other laser-sights. I was a bit skeptical at first but the rail-mounted was too bulky for my concealed holster. I was able to easily set up the guide rod after a useful video online, but it's been extremely valuable since I have used this type of laser. The green laser is an excellent hue day or night, and it doesn't add much additional weight. I would definitely recommend to friends as a great compact accessory or gift for those who have never tried an internal laser.
Pros: Internal Rod is compact and on point
Cons: Tricky to set up, watched a youtube video...

Don't Do It!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on January 11, 2014
I bought this for my Glock 17. After a few rounds it would turn itself off. I could live with that, but when I tried to remove the barrel and slide I couldn't The laser moved off of its cradle and prevented the removal of the barrel for cleaning. I had a heck of a time getting the slide off. Got it back into its place and shot again, same problem. Buy a different type.
Pros: Easy set up
Cons: Turns off, won't stay in groove ...
