Pros:  Show and tell factor
Cons:  Tac light needs to be brighter
Would recommend:  no

The system is a great idea. It took me less than 3 minutes to install with supplied allens. The show and tell factor is superb. Friends, family, and co-workers slobber all over it. However this doesn't help the fact that the tac light is way to dark. There are no light upgrade options from Lasermax to resolve this issue. I also tested with other battery brands to no avail. I have since removed the module and went to a different system.

Pros:  Great Out-of-the-Box performance
Cons:  POOR customer service, life of product
Would recommend:  no

I always loved Lasermax products! Very impressive when purchased new and quite the "show off" item. But after 3 short years of very limited home-protection use, the laser on my first LMS-1202 stopped working. I returned it to the company and they said "no can fix--but you can buy a NEW one from us for $xxx! Mind you their "offer" was about $40- more than Optics Planet and everybody else's price. Wow, thanks. Granted my unit was out of the 1 year warranty, but seriously, I have owned 6 of their products and it was a slap in the face to not be offered a discounted repair/replacement. So what did I do? Bought another from Optics Planet! Yes, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth from their manufacture, and they got the last laugh selling me another through a vendor. Sadly not much compares to the versatility of the unit. End lesson: Buyer beware. If you expect a USA made product/company to stand behind their unit if it fails- DON'T buy! If you are ready to replace it when ...

Pros:  Affordable, well built, rugged
Cons:  No way to do light only, or laser only via switch. Both or nothing.
Would recommend:  yes

I have bought three of these from Optics planet. They are very well built, and the light and laser combo is extremely rugged. It comes with all the tools you need, and was very easy to setup and use. Don't forget to buy the pressure switch separately, as it doesn't come with this light unless you get the combo package for more money. I had one unit arrive with a bad laser, but OpticsPlanet is taking care of it and I will have a new one shortly.

Pros:  Ease of installation and great value
Cons:  None
Would recommend:  yes

Rocket wrote:

Would like to have a switch that chooses between laser only or light only rather than just both on or nothing but that's the way to use it 98 percent of the time anyway so..... Irregardless of that I would have to consider this pretty much a perfect product, the light is bright and the laser came adjusted and sighted nearly perfectly to about 25 yards. Installed in under 15 minutes and half of that was reading the instructions. Reasonable price and no additional mounts are required though you will want the optional momentary activation switch also found here at optics planet.

Excellent product, bright, accurate laser point. Only issue was had to remove front sling swivel from shotgun. Would like to see product improved by adding sling swivle option.

Pros:  Everything I ever wanted.

I bought a Remington 870 Express, 18" dual pistol gripped shotgun for home defense. Because it doesn't have a stock I wanted an aiming point in case I didn't necessarily have time to bring the shotgun up to cheek level. Not only does this have a BRIGHT LED, it also has a pulsating red dot laser sight. This is truly the best of both worlds, and it saved me from buying a saddle mount, optics, lasers, etc. all seperately. Installation was a breeze. I had it on in fifteen minutes, no problems. It clamps underneath the barrel to the magazine tube with some hex head screws that are included, as well as the wrenches to tighten and a secondary, smaller set to adjust for windage and height. This is strictly a home defense shotgun, so I haven't messed around with those. Factory settings are absolutely perfect for me. To describe the performance, this baby is BRIGHT. I've got a 20-25 foot hallway and in pitch dark, when I turn this light on, EVERYTHING is illuminated. Probably brighter ...
