Maybe for a crossbow.........

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on October 31, 2011
Inside lenses came totally appart after 200 shots of .22 pellet. Looks nice out of the box, but I would not trust the same UTG model for free. Not so sure about Leapers brand anymore.
Pros: nice cosmetics, easy and quick adjustments
Cons: Worthless for a .22 airgun...

3/9x40 TF2 Leapers on a Thompson/Center Impact 50cal

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on September 2, 2010
Mounted this on a T/C 50 cal muzzleloader. First shot off by 7" low and 6" right at 50 yards. Calculated POI and adjusted turrets; next shot within 3/4" of zero. One more adjustment and it was right on. This 50cal has significant recoil even with 100gr of pyrodex and light 225gr pointed Hornady sabots. Very impressed with reticle resolution and overall features. Looks like a $300 scope, and rings mount solidly to a good Weaver base. Eye relief seems to be just a bit short, but acceptable. (Scope has to be mounted a bit more rearward than I would like.) Have only fired six rounds from this new setup, but no creep of scope in rings, and make sure to use loc-tite on all mounting screws. Optics Planet said this was on backorder, then it arrived much earlier than stated. I also spoke to Leapers themselves before ordering; they were a pleasure! Can't wait to see how the optics hold up in rain/snow during deer season. Reticle is crisp and clear, thru entire power range, after tweaking focus ring (I wear thick contacts). Turret adjustment is simple, but I wish turrets could be reset back to zero after sighting in; they are limited to whatever number you end up on after adjustment. You have to remember what zero is if you make any adjustments for wind and/or longer ranges. Fit and finish of scope and adjustment feel of turrets and power ring are exceptional for this price point. If it stands up to recoil over time and retains zero without fogging, this will be one hel...
