I like these mounts for two reasons. The cross piece which indexes to the rail is machined into the mount rather than using the attchment bolt as the indexing device. I also prefer the allen screw to clamp the mount to the rail rather than the long indexing bolt used on most mounts. Usually these bolts are aluminum which means they can be easily stripped or over tightened with the nut to failure. I have had to replace many of this type with SS bolt from the hardware store. This mount uses a steel allen head screw which is treaded directly into the mount body. I have recently purchased 3 sets of these mounts and they will be my mount of choice in the future - good product - good value.
