This rail is perfect for the 870A. However, it does not fit the Super Mag right out of the box. Because of the longer carry in the charging stroke, you have to do some moderate modification before it will fit the super mag. You either need to trim down the rail or cut about a 1 inch notch in the fore-end. I chose to use my dremel tool to cut a notch on each side of the synthetic fore-end charging grip, that did the trick. The rail works great, after the modifications.

I mounted this on an NEF Pardner, which is the Chinese-made clone of the Remington 870. It's also the same gun as the Hawk 982 and Norinco 98 models. The saddle mount did fit over the reciever, the only issue was with the mounting holes. Apparently the Chinese changed the center-to-center distance on the trigger group pins from a Remington, so the thru-bolts wouldn't line up. It's an easy fix - drill out the holes on the left side of the mount a size larger to allow for some fitment & wiggle room and the bolts will then pass thru cleanly and engage the threads on the right-hand side. Don't go crazy drilling the holes - 1/4" on the front is all I needed, and the back one isn't much larger. The all aluminum construction is quite solid, and is superior to the cheap plastic one. The $10 price difference is worth it. It also stands a little up from the top of the reciever so you can see underneath it to use your front bead if your optics fail. I recommend UTG design a side saddle shell holder to match this mount. Good purchase and I will stick with it, for now. If you want to simply add a rail to your shotty, this is a nice mount.
