Great bipod for the price. Not sure that it would handle the recoil of a large caliber weapon. Would use on 5.56 or lower caliber.

This bipod is a definate advantage on/off the range. it stabilizes long-range shots and works with a bayonet. It's light-weight occupies min. rail space. I use it on my M4 and Mod 1895 .45-70.

I see no need to buy a Harris bi-pod unless you need the name. Quality of this product is top notch. It is short so don't think it will work for you with a high capacity mag type carbine.Get the longer one for sure. I mounted mine on my wife's Hipoint carbine (15 rnd with Pro mag) and its perfect height.

I have had this product for 4 months now and had the opportunity to use it at the range about a dozen times. It works really well via rail mount on my AR and stud mount on my bolt gun. The bipod easily changes from one gun to another. Great buy.

I purchased this bipod for my tactical 10/22. Pimarily to support the weapon in a semi-ready firing position. I wanted to avoid resting the gun on the red dot / laser sight. Determine your height requirements and buy it.

Pros:  Sturdy, quiet, easy to use
Cons:  None
Would recommend:  yes

Bipod was mounted on a rail so I cannot speak about stud mount but assume it is as good a quality as the rest of the Bipod. This is very steady and secure, unlike a lot of bipods in this price range it is absolutely silent either open or closed

Has both mounts available. Get the taller version unless you don't use high cap mags. Should hold up fine.

Author: WATCHMAN007 , EX-MILITARY, from ZANESVILLE, OHIO on Aug 25, 2011
Pros:  The release allows the legs to drop down and you are able to turn the rifle approx. 20-25 degrees left and right
Cons:  you must manually push the legs back up
Would recommend:  yes

WATCHMAN007 wrote:

Recommend? Depends on what you want. Personally I think that it would be better if the legs retracked at the touch of the button. In most cases you have the time to let them down but, not the time to push them back up. Just speaking from a combat stand point...

Very sturdy and reliable while attached to the picatinny rail on a DPMS 308. The height is perfect to clear the magazine off the ground or table. Very steady platform when shooting from a bench. Optics Planet ships quickly, and while the price is not the lowest available, free shipping and no tax makes Optics Planet a great choice.
