Pros: Superior optics, ease and speed of use, usable range, small size, rugged construction
Cons: Will not switch between yards and meters like old LRF series, price
Would recommend: yes

This is an expensive piece of equipment, but worth every penny! I replaced the older and larger LRF 800 with this unit. The optics are awesome and the unit is significantly smaller than the LRF series. I do wish that this unit would switch between yards and meters like the LRF did, but I just printed out a conversion chart and slid it into the carrying case - problem solved. This range finder is the envy of the range. Everyone wants to try it out.
This thing is awesome.

I spent a lot of time on the forums and everyone said this is the range finder to have, it was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I'm glad I did. It works exactly as advertised. It is very simple, there is only one button, push it once and a small red square reticle appears, push it again and it tells you how far away the object in the reticle is. Measuring distances of trees, houses, cars, or any large object up to 1200 yards is effortless. In ideal conditions I have got readings up to 1370 yards. Smaller or less reflective objects are a little harder to get a reading on, rolling dry grass hills are easy up to about 800 yards, humans are easy up to about 700 yards. I haven't seen any deer with this range finder ( I don't hunt anything but paper targets at long distance ) so I can't really say how far out you could range a deer. From what I understand deers fur is pretty non reflective, so I imagine it is probably 500-600 yards or so. The ability to find range through obstacles is ...

Ranged another pine in winter at 1320yds. Very quick response but hit or miss depending on reflectivity and aim. Bright crisp display. Easy one handed use but you might need to brace on something solid. Repeated rangings give slightly different values so not as accurate as the Swarovski but the funtionality is superior.
