Pros:High Quality Cons: High Price Would recommend: yes
The Leica X1 is a very specialized camera, and in spite of having automatic settings, it requires a great deal of attention to those settings to get proper exposure and focus.
The X1 does produce high-quality images, but not in proportion to its cost - much of the cost goes into build quality and various photographic features that provide greatly diminishing returns for the price paid.
Do I recommend the X1? An emphatic yes to Leica fans who expect what they get with the X1, but all others should beware of basing their decision on features and specifications alone. Non-Leica users would almost certainly be disappointed with a two thousand dollar compact camera that has far fewer features than a Panasonic GF1, for example.
