magnets are not always your friend!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 12, 2012
I nearly bought this before remembering that digital information and powerful magnets don't mix. No way I'd put my digital camera on this thing!...

Trek Pod is handy

I was somewhat skeptical of this product, but was really impressed when I received it. It is very sturdy, yet lightweight, and works well. I haven't used it as a on any hikes yet, but it certainly feels durable and sturdy enough to serve that purpose. Makes a fine tripod for now, and is adjustable for a wide range of heights....

Trek Pod II

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 16, 2008
great idea for a tripod system but practically falls short. not stable at all due to the stick extending so far above the tripod legs and as a result difficult to use, at least with a spotting scope.
Pros: convenient system
Cons: not stable...

Very Weak Producx

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MN Written on July 24, 2008
This thing has a tripod that forms on a 5 foot or higher tripod at about 15 inches off the ground. It is so unstable for most purposes that a wind over 5mph would risk blowing it over. Find a stick for a walking stick and buy a real tripod instead. This was the biggest waste of money I can remember in a long time.
Pros: Walking Stick Feature (find a stick instead)
Cons: Tripod forms 15 inches above the ground and is useless...

I use lots of gear (Spotting scope, Binoculars, Camera, Distance finder, etc)
I needed to purchase many extra parts to fit each piece of equipment to make full use of this System. It works like a charm and I recommend it to anyone wanting a lightweight, and smooth operating field system.
Pros: Speed of set up, Style, Portability, Ease of use.
Cons: A little pricey, but due to the features, worth it to me...
