Dissapointing

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on January 3, 2010
Researched ranefinders like most of us do before buying hunting gear. Relied on Leupolds reputation and many of the features of the RX-IV to make my decision. Bad decision....would not range, so I sent them back to Leupold, only to receive another pair that had the same problem. Should have kept my bulkier and less expensive Bushnell yardage pros. I would not purchase this again. Hunting experience: 30 years Other optics owner: Bushnell, Swarovski, Zeiss, Khales.
Pros: Range of features
Cons: Lousy target acquisition...

Bow Hunter

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on August 23, 2009
I'm really disappointed in this buy. I was all excited and took it to the archery range. I set it to the bow mode and began range finding on the targets. I worked great at first, but then I couldn't get it to range find the 60yard targe. I tried multiple times. I eventually switched modes to LOS and it worked fine. It took some testing, but I figured out that the device simply wont return a distance over 60 yards while in bow mode. Very disappointing.

Also, there was so much liturature about the RX-IV that I got sucked into believing the "boone and crocket" edition was the top of the line. It isn't. B&C edition sacrafices the thermometer and compass functions to give you three little sticks that help to guage horizotal disctance at the distance ranges. A feature that is REALLY worthless.

Pros: Sorta easy to use out of the box
Cons: Device wont range anything over 60yards while in bow mode...

Top Notch Range Finder

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MI Written on November 26, 2007
This rangefinder is well worth the money. The measuring/calculating feature is spot-on accurate and really gives you an idea of the size of your target. Other rangefinders just can't compare to the combination of high-tech features on this one. I highly recommend....
