Great Eyepiece Protection

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 26, 2011
This product provides excellent protection for my new rifle scope. Optics Planet has ALWAYS provided excellent products at most always the best prices. Certainly their free shipping (orders meeting a low minimum price) is an added benefit that keeps them on the top of my retailer list.
Pros: Secure, tight fit on my Leupold scope...provides the protection that I had hoped for.
Cons: NONE...

Where's The Cushioning??!!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 15, 2011
This is nothing more than a ring of metal that will thread into the ocular end of your scope. Yes, it has some rubber or nondescript material on the edge of the ring that allegedly is to work to soften the edge of the metal ring and afford protection to the eye. I looked at it, pressed on the cushioned area and tried to see where it would afford the eye protection and it is just not there. Getting hit in the eye from a hard recoil will still hurt and leave you with injury with this. Its not worth the money. There are other items that are available that do the same thing this is supposed to do. I dont think Optics Planet carrying them but it from experience worked well better than this Leupold item would. Understand, I like Leupold items. For this item to be so pathetic and coming from Leupold is really disappointing.
Pros: None That I Found
Cons: It Is A "Con"....

Where's The Soft Spot???

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 31, 2011
I wanted to keep everything on my Leupold scope, Leupold, and is why I ordered this piece. When it arrived I took it out of it's packaging and didn't find anything "soft or cushioning about it. It is just a metal ring that screws into the ocular end of the scope, and has a little rubber edging to it. If you get hit in the eye from recoil and get hurt, ask Leupold what happened. It was only $10.00, but it was $10.00 that could have gone to something that did what it was supposed to do. This item isn't going to keep you from getting "scope bit." I'm looking at it as I write and for the life of me ... where's the cushion!!!??? It is still a hard, thin edge of hard rubber. The Quake Rifle Scope Eye Scope Recoil Pad for $3.99 is a much better item and cost effective piece. This is not something Id tell a friend, maybe not even an enemy to get as it wont work. Better to keep your eye back from the scope or buy a Quake Scope Recoil Pad.
Pros: None
Cons: Still is a hard surface...

Perfect addition for any Leupold or Redfield Revolution Scope!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MO Written on October 25, 2010
I have bought 4 of these, 3 for my VX-II's and one for my buddy who has a new Redfield Revolution.

If you've ever been bumped by your scope for whatever reason, heavy magnum recoil, shooting up hill, real spongy recoil pad, or etc. Put a rubber eyepiece guard on your scope and don't worry about getting hit in the face by a thin metal edge.

These fit perfect, they just thread in to the eye piece and look like it was made on the scope....
