Great Glass for the Price

by Tauno, from United States, MN Written on October 14, 2014
I bought these binos primarily for hunting. Compared them to others in their class (Vortex, Bushnell HD, Nikon, etc). These were the clearest and fastest focusing of the group. Had them out for an 8 day elk hunt a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Was able to glass with ease and no eye strain at distances well over 1000 yds. A couple of my buddies may be picking some up before our next hunt....
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Brightness
  • Feels right
  • focus
Cons:
  • Objective caps not secure

Crystal Clear

by KChap, from United States, CA Written on August 30, 2014
This is the clearest glass I have owned to this date. The adjustable eye pieces are brilliant, keep ing the sun out of the eye relief. This is also great for glasses wearers. The eye piece cover isn't the easiest to remove, as it is one cover for both eye pieces. Then the question is, what do you do with it once it is removed: put it in your pocket? It has a lanyard loop, but it is not feasible to have it connected to the neck strap as the position is awkward and pulls on the cap, and thus, the eye pieces....
Pros:
  • great quality
  • crystal clear
  • adjustable eyepiece
Cons:
  • eye piece cover
  • case

Great 10x42 Optics

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, LA Written on February 18, 2014
These Leupold 10X42 Mojave binos are the best I've ever looked through (including some very nice European glass). They have similar quality performance of my beloved BX-2's...bright, very sharp with great resolution, excellent color and detailed low light vision, all with Edge to Edge clarity and great build quality. However, the BX-3's have additional silver enhanced coated roof prisms and in direct comparison, the BX-3's step it up a notch in every aspect, especially with their wider FOV over my BX-2's (60ft)! This wider FOV creates a flatter image, has a deeper, more 3-D like DOF and greater eye relief with less eye fatigue that leads to easier sustained long term viewing. They are very easy to hold and have the lockable diopter adjustment set in the large focus control...Nice. With their light weight and ergonomic compact size, these appear to be the valued "sweet spot" in the Leupold binocular line up, becoming my go to optics for the range and hunting!
Pros: Lite, Compact, Excellent Resolution, Edge to Edge Sharpness, Ergonomic Features, Locking Diapoter, Natural Colors, Warranty
Cons: None...

I'll be passing my nice BX-2's down to my youngest son, but see these BX-3's staying in my gear bag for a Long Time to Come!
