Leupold bases

by gunfreak, from United States, OR Written on February 9, 2015
great product from leupold. easy to install and set up. comes with all the tools needed to install but having an inch pound torque wrench/screwdriver helps. Great matte black color. Being dovetail bases there it no adjustment for the rings but everything seemed to line up great....

Leupold Dual Dovetail DD base review

by Brandon Futch, from United States, NC Written on February 6, 2015
I was used to using weaver style bases until I saw someone at the range with a two piece set of dual dovetail bases. I asked how he liked them and he said they were fantastic. I went out and brought a set for myself and since then I've replaced all of my mounting systems on my rifles even on the magnums. I don't know if Leupold makes dovetails for shotguns and smoke poles but it would be nice if they did....
Pros:
  • good solid scope mounting system with a professional look
Cons:
  • the quick release bases are a little pricey but worth it, they can be a little tough to turn so use a little gun grease

leupold dual dovetail system

by Bobby, from United States, NC Written on December 31, 2014
These are the best leupold mounts in my opinion. They are 50% stronger than the windage rear style. These are my go to bases when i need to get the scope as low as possible and can easily handle magnums....
Pros:
  • strong, easy to install, nice finish, US made
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Any rifle

Best on the market

by Mick, from United States, CT Written on December 21, 2014
These bases like all of Leupold,s products are the best there is for any reasonable amount of money. Solid, secure, first rate! I own several scoped rifles, all of them have Leupold bases. I wouldn't consider any other brand....

S&W 629 base

by Doc in Pa., from United States, PA Written on December 21, 2014
I recently purchased a Leupold duel dovetail base for my S&W model 29 Heritage. It was very easy to mount and the duel dovetail Leupold rings fit perfectly. I is a very strong setup. I mounted a Leupold 4X handgun scope to complete the model 29. I am very happy how it turned out. Doc in Pa....

Best mounts

by Jim, from United States, LA Written on November 17, 2014
These are excellent mounts. If installed properly your scope will never move. High quality steel in matte finish. The dual dovetail design is rock solid once you twist your rings in place. Would recommend to anyone....

Leupold 2 Piece )Dual Dovetail Scope Mount Bases

by Rod, from United States, CA Written on November 10, 2014
In my view this scope mounting system is the best available for those who want a scope solidly mounted to a rifle. Unlike the latecomers to the game, Leupold has not attached "pie in the sky" pricing to this solid system. While not cheap, it represents good value for dollars expended. Unless you need a QD (quickly detachable) system on an iron sighted rifle I recommend this for any rifle for which it is available. (I was recently most disappointed to find that the system is not offered for a rifle that is long out of production.) I have recommended this system to everyone I know. It is great!...
Pros:
  • Time proven system that NEVER fails
  • Easy installation with pre-preg Locktite screws
Cons:
  • None

As good as it gets

by TNGuide, from United States, TN Written on October 14, 2014
Rock solid bases and great fit. No need for lapping or adjustment with these bases a and rings. Fit great on Kimber WSM series and Kimber Varmint rifles.I have used base and ring sets from everyone including Weaver, Redfield, Warne, Nikon, Burris, Talley and Millet. Nothing has ever fit any better, lined up any truer or held any scope better than these bases and ring sets. I use them on all client guns and have changed them out on all of my guns as well. Nothing ends a hunt any quicker than dropping a rifle and knowing that the zero is long gone from a clients gun. You can carry the extra ammo, targets, and hope to stay on the game while resetting your guns zero or get these and know the gun will stay on zero unless something ridiculous happens to the gun. These mounts, when used with Leupold rings, aren't going to provide any miracles but they will likely hold your zero better than any others you will ever use....
Pros:
  • Price and fit
Cons:
  • None yet!
Best Used for:
  • Any rifle, especially heavy recoil guns
Would recommend: Yes

Solid as a rock

by Steve, from United States, ME Written on October 12, 2014
Installed in minutes and solid as a rock. This ring and base combination is the best I have used. Great design and functionality. Be sure to follow the directions on line and use a wooden dowel to turn the rings into the bases....
