awsome scopes for Luddites

by lawdog, from United States, WY Written on April 1, 2015
Now have 4 of these; .223, 280, 2 x 3006. They are simple, rugged, and about as good as it gets for guys who don't need a power ring to play with. Seriously, good to 400-500 yards on big game animals, providing the guy driving it has the capability. Have used from AR/MO deer woods in the thickets to WY pronghorn flats, with untold trips in griz country elk hunting and have never felt the "small" field of view to be a problem. If I weren't downsizing the gun safe contents I would probably have even more of them. An added benefit is good eye relief and looooooong mounting tube for L/A rifles....
Pros:
  • Price, simple, effective
Cons:
  • None

Leupold scope

by alan, from United States, TX Written on February 5, 2015
Leupold is a name you can when buying shooting optics. It offers a excellent value for superior quality. I have rifles with more expensive optics packages but the fixed six power is my choice for everyday work rifles. This particular scope was paired with a Magnum Research 22WMR. I couldn't be more pleased with the combination. As usual the service and delivery was perfect....
Pros:
  • Clarity, light transmission
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • This combination is great for small predator control

Fixed Power Availability and Affordability

by Smud, from United States, NE Written on January 20, 2015
With fixed power scopes being difficult to find, this Leupold provides excellent quality in an affordable package. The 6x brings a 300-yard shot to within 50-yards, which is more power than most people will ever need. I've mounted it on a T/C Encore barrel, with quick-release Leupold rings, and it provides me a lightweight, rugged, and versatile option to shoot with open sights or go with a scope....
Pros:
  • rugged
  • Clear, bright optics
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

On A Kimber 308 84M

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on August 16, 2012
Fantastic and simple. Used onboard a Kimber 84M. Reaches out to 300 yards with ease. I will not likely shoot beyond that. The balance of the rifle is not affected by an overly weight scope. I am buying another for my Volquartsen.
Pros: Absolutely beautiful glass and sight picture. Does not overpower the rifle.
Cons: None...

Leupold FX-II 6x36mm Rifle Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on December 13, 2010
I have 2 of these scopes and I highly recommend them for any application out to 200+ yds for deer and 300+ yds for elk. Great for a horseback hunt...lightweight and low profile fits easily in a scabbard. I use a Leupold quick release system and a Leupold Collimeter bore sight to record and maintain zero. Definitly a Best Buy scope!
Pros: Crisp optics, lightweight, low profile
Cons: Haven't descovered any!...
