DMR-YES CQB-NO

by D.L. Johnson, from United States, PA Written on March 29, 2015
I purchased this scope coming off a " High " that I reached purchasing the Leupold VX-R Patrol w/the SPR fire-dot for my sons Sig Sauer 556 classic. That scope was the perfect set up for the type of shooting we do, combination of CQB and mid range precision. Now, my son and I both run the Sig 556 classics and when we seen how good that scope worked on his rifle, I wanted the same type of system on my rifle. Now when it came time to purchase a scope for my rifle I had a little more money to spend so I settled on the Leupold Mark 4 1-5 MR/T M2. I was thinking I was getting a little more magnification and a reticule that was definitely a step up from the SPR. The problem is the reticule is not bright enough during the day. Early morning & dusk it works great and can be used as a CQB red dot on the lowest magnification, but you are at a loss during the day light. Now on to the good parts. If you are looking for a dedicated DMR or even a mid range sniper rifle scope....this is it. As I stated before my son and I run Sig 556 classics, great battle rifles, tuff as nails, but they are just not as accurate as a gas impingement, at least not with 55/62gr.and that is what we shoot for practice most of the time. This scope and his VX-R Patrol has brought us down to the 1 1/2 in. group range @ 100yrds. We were at 3in at 100 before the leupolds, unless we ran our 75gr bth which gave us our 1in.Now our next test will be with the 75gr. w/ the Leupolds. So what am I saying here? if you want a de...

fully satisfied

by drshooter, from United States, WI Written on March 9, 2015
used on m4 carbine. like all leupold optics crisp and clear. only recently tried their pricier scopes and very happy with them. CMR-2 reticle appears to be spot on. top dial repeatably returns to same position. the adjustment dials are very stiff but suppose that is a good thing because they are very unlikely to get bumped out of position....

Great choice for those wanting added power, and red-dot performance

by Kivaari, from United States, ID Written on August 18, 2014
I bought this scope locally. I had tried an EOTech XPS2, but found I could not see the circle-dot clearly with may aging eyes. The local dealer said he was using this cope on several AR-type rifles. I gave it a try and it easily replaces a 1X red dot, yet at 5X it performs like a very fine scope. The illuminated reticle is great in low light settings.
The local dealer had suggested this, and his opinion proved to be accurate.
I like this product mounted in a GG&G QD mount. Backed by a Magpul folding BUS. The down side, is I like it so much that I bought a second rifle so I can add a higher powered scope on a Bushmaster XM15E2S - 20" HBAR.
This is an excellent product as is the mount....

Mark 4 Leupold for 300 blackout

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on February 14, 2013
This is the perfect 300 blackout scope for most common distance used with my 300 blackout (50 to 200 yards). The compact size looks awesome on my NEMO. Leupold quality is always a plus. Reticle is specially designed for the 300 blackout.
Love the scope. Would definitely buy another. Great price for what you get.
Pros: compact, light weight, quality, great look...

I spent a $100 more. :(

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on January 7, 2012
Should have checked Optics Planet 1st. Could have saved $100 on the scope and $75.00 in Taxs. The Scope is crisp, Great in low light (or I should say surprising in low light). The build quality is rock solid. The illumination is very adjustable. Turrets are large enough to deal with with gloves (could be a little taller, but that is a nit-pick. Nice positive response off of the turrets. Would buy it again in a heart beat.
Pros: Optics, build quality
Cons: None that come to mind...

Excellent Leupold Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, ID Written on December 16, 2011
A very high quality scope. Somewhat expensive, but hopefully will be worth it in the long run. Was going to buy the Vortex but it was out of stock, so got this one instead. I made the correct decision to buy the Leupold instead. The illuminated Special Purpose Reticle is awesome!
Pros: Very nice optic quality. Clear and bright. I really like the reticle. The circle makes it easy to acquire a target.
Cons: Expensive - but hopefully worth it. ...
