Like most Leupold products, you get what you pay for. I think $140 for a pair of aluminum scope rings is a bit expensive, but if you don't want to keep adding weight to your AR or rifle, you may have to pay up to keep the weight down. They're very easy to set up on Picatinny rails to mount your scope and they give my rifle a classic look. But they're just too expensive.
